dinner help

Postby nursemimi » March 22nd, 2017, 2:23 pm

I have pork steaks laid out for dinner tonight and I have no idea what to do with them.
I usually either do them in Barbecue sauce or cream with mushrooms I want something different this time.
Any help greatly appreciated.

i'm not a meat eater but isn't apple the usual accompaniment to pork? when i was little i think we had a sharpish, not sweet, apple sauce with pork.

Yes, apple is really good with pork - I sometimes cut apples and onions into wedges and bake them around pork shops with some sage leaves - add a splash of cider and cream to the juices :chops:

I also cut bulbs of fennel into quarters and braise them in the oven in a little stock or with butter and a splash of Pernod or white wine. Then brown the pork chops or steaks in a pan and put on top of the fennel in the oven to finish. :chops:

I frequently do this Gordon Ramsay affair - admittedly it's with a pork chop, but the combination of flavours would be the same. Pork chops with peppers - I love it,
