Iced lolly/iced dessert ideas

Postby TezzaBear » March 29th, 2017, 5:53 pm

Gearing up for finer weather and in anticipation of receiving my Calipo style lolly moulds order I have been researching sorbets.
How easy can this one be?

Most of the articles I have read go on about forget fat laden ice cream in favour of healthy three ingredient sorbets packed full of nutrients. Hear hear I have always said! So refreshing and totally guilt free.
Must dig out Ian's gelato recipes. Divine.

Shouldn't this be on The Kitchen board?

Thought I had put it on Kitchen.
Can a Mod help move it please?
Frozen kulfi sounds yum.

I have always wanted to make a Chocolate Bombe but haven't yet.

I would like a good ice cream maker in order to make unusual flavours of ice cream easily.

Fresh fruit juice makes great lollies!

I plan to make plain pineapple juice and maybe a second batch with coconut milk mixed in. :chops:

I have a cheap set of those plastic lolly makers & most summers make them from just fruit juice. It does set rather icy & solid compared to shop bought ones, they probably add something to help the texture, or sugar. I like them just as they are though.

Pineapple ones & orange ones are always plenty sweet enough for me just as they are. Be interesting to hear how well pineapple & coconut milk works, if it separates etc.

I thought I would get my lolly mould delivery today but didn't yet. Hopefully tomorrow and will report back on what recipe I try first if not just fruit juice.

Custard my kids did this at cubs, filled lolly moulds with tinned custard and freeze, remove from moulds and dip top in melted chocolate, refreeze. They were surprisingly good :D

Why have several of the posts to this thread disappeared?
I spent some considerable time copying across several recipe links of mine that I thought Tezza would like, including one I knew she'd looked at a few years ago and liked the idea of and they are all gone?
@riocaz is it possible to see if they've accidentally been hidden?

Kavey, I greedily started two threads. Firstly one for moulds recommendations and then another for iced dessert recipes. I wish I had bulked altogether as one now. I can see why the confusion.

I have some pineapple juice on the go. I went to make a batch with coconut milk while I was at it, opened the cupboard, no coconut milk. I swear I had a tin in there. Must have eaten it. Pineapple I am sure will be lovely for now.
