Party-sized pasta salad

Postby Pepper Pig » September 26th, 2017, 1:54 pm

Can anyone give me a pointer to a pasta salad which would do for a barbecue/birthday party for about 20 people as part of a buffet. My brain has gone dead. (And I hate cold pasta). :o

TIA. :kneel: :kneel: :kneel:

I once took a large quantity of Greek style pasta salad to a BBQ and that went down a treat.

Something like this.

Tezza's looks good to me, with or without the feta. Most seem to have a mixture of tomatoes, corn, peppers etc chopped up, sometimes with bits of cheese, cold meat or fish, with a dressing added. Creamy dressings are nice IMO - but I adore cold pasta!

Me too PP and I wouldn't inflict it on anyone but if thaat is what has been asked for!! How about substituting quinoa or cous cous? I could pass on a couple of recipes for either.

For some reason I can’t paste, but Ainsley’s Caribbean bean salad with added pasta? Quick and easy.

I've never use a set recipe for pasta salad, I just throw whatever in. For the ultimate in simplicity pasta and pesto works well cold. I do find it needs pesto or mayo or something to stop the pasta sticking.

Give it a little taste but yes probably- sell by date, not use by.

PP- I've made this and it's lush. I added some chopped sundried tomatoes, tinned chickpeas and used some of the oil from the tomatoes in the dressing. It makes a huge dish. I'd use the feta as long it looked/smelled ok :)
