Terry's chocolate orange - dessert ideas?

Postby TeresaFoodie » December 29th, 2017, 1:10 am

I was given one of these for Christmas. I have never been a fan of chocolate of any kind, not eaten outright like this, but don't mind chocolate desserts if there other elements involved. So has anyone any ideas please?

Anything with melted chocolate or I guess chopped up and folded through something? Would it work nicely in some sort of flapjack perhaps? My mind has gone a tad blank!

One of my daughters made this for Christmas Day Teresa. Nice but very rich.

Melt it gently, then stir through some slightly softened ice cream so it's marbled through and refreeze ... Then you can help yourself as and when :chops:
You could add some chopped nuts if liked :D

I think Suffolk has the right idea. It means you don't have to eat a lot at once.

If you were more of a chocolate lover, I'd recommend chopping the chocolate and folding into a brownie batter.

With flapjacks you can either add chopped chocolate, or melt the chocolate, spread in the base of the baking tin, allow to harden, then bake the flapjack on top. Mark into squares while still warm but allow at least overnight for the chocolate to reharden before removing flapjacks from the tin. Or just spread melted chocolate on top after baking!

I found a link for no bake cheesecake but it wouldn't open, so thanks for that PP. It looks yum!

I am quite liking the ice cream idea. My sweet tooth of late gets me craving ice cream quite a bit. And I have a cupboard full of porridge oats for the flapjacks.

Decisions decisions.... :hungry:

Old fashioned chocolate mousse?

Chopped up inside a pancake so it melts .You can make a stack of pancakes (very theraputic) and freeze some for later.

Think it might make rather nice hot chocolate with a couple of segments melted into hot milk , maybe with a cinnamon stick infused in the milk. Squirty cream optional :aww:

I usually have a strong shot of black coffee of an afternoon. One segment dropped in made this a delicious treat which could have been enhanced with whipped cream floating on top. Very nice!
