Duck breasts, pancakes and hm hoisin sauce ? I plan on doing these for lunch tomorrow … apart from cucumber and spring onions, my mind is a blank :aww:

Mange tout (I've got a garden full ... I'll lob some over). :D

Fine green beans with sesame and ginger ... a favourite here https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/110 ... reen-beans

Do u mean as sides or other courses? As sides, I'd do some thinly sliced radishes and batons of carrot. Maybe some rice paper rolls with a dipping sauce.

To follow, a nice homemade or bought sorbet . Maybe some griddles pineapple or mango with chilli and mint

I'd do a big wok full of crunchy veg, mushrooms and beansprouts to go with that. :hungry:

The meal was a success :tu: ... taking into consideration a large glass of Sauv. Blanc was consumed while I was cooking :cocktail: There is plenty of leftovers (of the Singapore Noodles dish) .. ;) :tu: I had to bite my tongue when the courses were mixed up, with the spring onion/cucumber being loaded onto the plate with the pork and prawn (Singapore noodles) … I did stir fried Bok Choy AND fine green beans in the same dish and that was swiftly devoured - Result ! :tu: :chops:

He claims he had a couple of the Chinese pancakes, but I didn't notice :? He also discovered my salt mill was empty … I indicated a salt pig alongside my hob … "It's pink ! " he said … "So ?" said I …. He declined the salt :aww:

Pat - you know my dad cruises on a boat for most of the year. Well, he shares things that happen on his travels when I speak to him, and today our conversation on the phone made me think of this thread. Midway into our chat he started quacking, and saying 'hello ducky!' . I thought he'd gone mad until he said 'Oh, a family of ducks are staring at me'. So I said 'They're probably thinking yum, crispy fried human pancakes!'

Funny about the pink salt pig reaction. I can't think of a more appropriate colour for anything pig related myself! Although mine is a clear jar with a handmade label stating 'my salt pig' with a little wooden scoop in it. My real pig went missing in the move. I really want a pink one now!

Just to explain … it was the salt that was pink …. not the pig which is actually just a white sphere with access hole in front ! ;)
