I don't remember ever seeing one. Do you have internet links about them?

There's a famous Len Deighton one. Is that one of yours, wargarden?

https://www.theguardian.com/books/2014/ ... aine-1960s

Excerpt:
"But old attitudes persisted. His publisher wanted to impregnate copies of Où Est Le Garlic? with essence of garlic, so the title “announced itself” in bookshops. “But the publisher came back to me and said: ‘I’ve got a bit of a problem…’ The warehouse workers said they wouldn’t handle the book if it smelled of garlic. So that never happened.”

Those crazy 1960s...! :)

OIC - you mean in the style of a comic rather than funny. Yes, classic stuff. I still have several cuttings from popular newspapers in the 70's which adopted that kind if idea for easy to follow recipes - usually very good too.

When DD went to uni in 1986 I used to send her regular cartoon strips, drawn by me to remind her how to make/do certain things like make bechamel, YPs chilli etc. She still has them and has had them bound to pass on the GD when she goes to uni in Seprember!
