is m&s sure they're the first? - i'm sure i bought some a few years back - from sainsbury's or someone like that - and have kept an eye open for them since. i bet they come quite expensive in m&s!

These have been around for years and years, I remember having them with my parents in the old house, so at least 21 years ago!
I don't think they are as nice as the ones with seeds in they seem to slump to brown malodourous much very easily

Someone on Twitter was saying she used to buy them for her kids lunch boxes because as well as being easy to cope with they were dirt cheap at the time.

Surely there must be more cases of corned beef hand (getting into a tin without cutting into a tendon) than avocado hand?

I have prepared hundreds of avocados and never sustained an injury. Are people wearing blindfolds when using a knife or what? My mind boggles...

I have not yet seen avocados like that. I don't buy them very often but the beauty of the stone is always a pleasure - possibly more so than eating the fruit which I find a bit overrated except for a couple of recipes.
