good morning +

Order yourself a latte, and a pastry (The virtual cinnamon buns are excellent today). And have a nice chat.

Good morning all :D
Back from the farm shop with beef for tomorrow, bread, another Crown Prince squash to store in the garage and apples ... then neighbour across the way rang the doorbell and gave us more apples :D maybe I should have bought pork rather than beef :-/ ... but they'll keep until next weekend.
I popped out between the showers and picked another load of tomatoes ... we've had the best crop ever this year ... the Sungolds are amazing. I'm roasting some for the freezer and will make a sauce for pizza later in the week. I'm also roasting some red and yellow peppers which were a freebie from the farm shop as they'd got soft spots on them so couldn't be sold ... they'll go in the freezer too and come in handy later.
I must make some more space in the freezer ... it's full of runner beans and home made ready meals for DS ... I'll take those to him next week if he's at home.
Have a lovely weekend folks :D

Good morning! Back in London after my Greek holiday - bit of a contrast in temperature. It was in the thirties there! I've got socks on and a cardigan and am thinking about the central heating....
Had a wonderful time. Feeling very stuffed with lovely Greek food so had a curry last night for a bit of contrast! Shops this morning I think to stock up again.
Have a good day!

Good morning, all.
Sunny with a few white lumps.
I'm doing a little house sit for deliveries and for the fact that our young have got our builder to lay their kitchen floor slate before she carries on with our stuff.
They've painted since I last came round - white makes the place look huge.
One delivery done, builder here, a few more deliveries to go.
Have a lovely day, everyone.

A bit dull here. It was so nice yesterday lunchtime. I had an errand to do, so ended up walking around Smithfield, and really wished I had my (proper) camera. Still I was able to do a phone camera recce and I may take the big one in on Friday if the forecast is still as good as it currently is.

Good morning, all.
Overcast and a bit breezy.
Nothing planned other than a bit of gentle(?) hswk and going to a birthday bash tonight.
I have defrosted a very large pack of clotted cream that's been in the freezer for a while - I can feel thunder and lightning coming on, along with the need to go and pick blackberries to go in a crumble, making some scones and thinking of some other ways of using it up which doesn't include just eating it, guiltily, by the spoonful from the box.
Have a cozy day, everyone.

PS. Is the healthy option stirring it through porridge?

Good morning, all.
Yesterday's forecast for today was for showers this morning drying up in the afternoon. Today's is for sunny spells clearing to sunshine for the rest of the day.
I'm housesitting again for a delivery - which is a good excuse for leaving the hswk for another year.
Have a good day, everyone.

Good afternoon
I'd have sworn I posted here yesterday but there you are
Been out for my pedicure, done some laundry made lunch of a vaguely Mexican frittata including one of my home grown chillies, not as hot as expected but nice
Need to have a significant tidy up and fit a lock to my post box, better do that first in case it rains
Have a good day

Evening all .... I have hardly stopped all day, but just wanted to say what a lovely day we have had here .. I did my Zumba class this morning, then went straight to the local tip to empty the car of all the leftover bits and pieces that my builder has put outside while doing my little extension .. I don't know about anyone else, but I do find the guys at the 'dump' (as we call it locally) so helpful - I realise they are hoping that someone is going to throw away something worth 'collecting' but today's helpful chappie kept telling me to leave the stuff in my car and he would deal with it .. he did whiff a bit though. ;) A quick bite to eat when I got home, then a couple of hours doing stuff in the garden .. I now ache all over ;) Can't think why ;)

good aftermorning, all.
sunny and breezy.
we have been to a sale of artwork of a friend who died earlier in the year. the proceeds are going to his pet charity for indian railway children. we have come away with my partner's favourite piece of ceramic wall art which he didn't think would be in the sale, so is over the moon - a very happy bunny. we also bought a lively gouache of a french street market. we could easily have spent a fortune.
later, we're off to the minack to see the comedian classicist, natalie haynes.
have a good afternoon/evening, everyone.

natalie haynes was very good, last night. she packed a three hour, humorous lecture on the history of theatre in ancient greece into an hour and a half.
i find it interesting/surprising that she didn't see the sea until she was twenty.
coffee needed, stuff to do.

Well, my appointment was for 8am ... I got there before the Triage team arrived ... there was no one ahead of me ... I must say it was the most thorough examination I've ever had on that knee ... and he agreed that my knees are hyperflexive ... I've been saying that for years ... I used to lock my knees so they bent back like bananas ... I still can ... but I don't.

Perhaps they're going to scan you at the same time rather than farm you out to Global Diagnostics like me?

i doubt it, my apt is in hayle and the mri machine is in truro. there is the possibility that they've moved it since my last one but i doubt that, too.
i think i may go and check apples for pears for ripeness, today, before they fall and the passing wildlife eats them all before we get to them first.

good morning, all.
sunny patches are a welcome occurrence after the wetness of yesterday.
i was at the farm, having quite a productive day doing fun stuff, yesterday - playing with mud. the guys i was with enjoyed themselves, too, it seems.
today, other than the permanently delay-able hswk, i have some green tomatoes and quite a lot of red ones so can feel a few jars of chutney coming on.
then it's the pub quiz tonight.
have a great day, everyone.

Absolutely no green tomatoes here ... they all ripened ... the surplus has been roasted and frozen to turn into soups and sauces at a later date.
I have nothing urgent to do ... I may read my book and play in the studio ...
Enjoy your day folks :D

mine are still ripening in the garden. these are some from the poly tunnel. the community garden is going to downsize to half the plots, including half the poly tunnel - and the tomatoes (which are still producing, copiously) are in the half that's being handed over to the volunteer group - so we have removed some of the stuff that we have grown (like a couple of pounds of the larger green tomatoes by me). - they will also get all our aubergines unfortunately.
as we have rather a lot on our plate for the foreseeable future (as you know) we are giving up our membership of the community garden, although i'll still keep the veg plots going at home.

good morning, all.
overcast, with a prediction of sun but just to make sure we have a yellow weather warning for heavy rain and strong winds.
the quiz was won by a healthy margin, last night (by us).
the hswk was delayed a little longer.
some washing, out on the line, was deemed in need of another rinse by the rain gods.
and i didn't get the chutney made.
this just goes to show why i never make lists - it would leave me feeling like a frustrated, disorganised failure. without the list i may be one but at least i'm not reminded to feel like one. my partner, a list maker, always feels frustrated that he hasn't finished all the things on his list for the day. i tell him he should treat it as a rolling list - of things that need to be done sometime in the near future but not necessarily today.
i don't make shopping lists either.
have a good day, everyone.

Good morning all :D
We had a beautiful starry sky in the early hours but it must've clouded over as when we woke this morning it had obviously been raining and it's too damp to do anything out there and there's no point in hanging the washing out so it's draped over racks in the study. It dries quite well in there even when the heating's not on.
Veg and casserole prepped for supper ... I'll put the casserole in the oven after lunch ... I've been asked to knit a blanket for DS's elderly cat who is finding the windowsills at his new place could do with some padding when watching the wild rabbits in the garden ... they're both loving the rural location ... so I think knitting may be on the cards for part of the afternoon.
Have a lovely day folks :D

Good morning, all.
Overcast with a promise of rain.
It's apple day in Aggie. My partner's gone off to set up but not stay all day. We have done our share and it's time to hand the responsibility on. It's not as if we juice our apples, either, the eaters that are ready get eaten and the rest aren't ready yet but we end up doing all the scrubbing and drying of the component parts of the press and scratter at the end of the day and the following one. This would all have fallen on my partner this year as I'm unable to help so it's another reason to pass the task on.
I don't fancy spending the day under an awning in the rain, either, if truth be told.
Have a cozy day, everyone.

If you were driving through at about 8.30 we would have been arriving for the day and, although pressing is supposed to finish at 4pm, going home doesn't happen until about six - and then the scrub down starts. So I'd imagine it would have been in the evening.

i walked down in the pouring rain and himself picked me up from wherever he'd been - i'm not sure that was apple day, though but i may be wrong, i'd have to check back - but not now - he's back and we're going to watch qualifying.

Good Morning. It is October already, Christmas is getting closer and the weather is getting more wintery by the day. Time to bring out the stew and casserole recipes again I think :hi5:

Good morning
We have sun here, but set to fade away this afternoon
Probably out for late lunch so will try to do a bit before then
Need to keep up the walking I did on holiday, but think that's tomorrow's plan as I'm still a bit chesty, though getting over the cold I brought back with me

Have a good day everyone

Good morning all :D
Overcast here and the goldfinches are back on the feeders ... I'd better pick up some more sunflower hearts when I go to the GC for compost for bulb pots after tennis.
Have a good day folks :D
