good morning +

Order yourself a latte, and a pastry (The virtual cinnamon buns are excellent today). And have a nice chat.

If I come back to this life I'm going to invent another way to take blood pressure ........ and a new sort of supermarket trolley.

Sounds awful, Suffs.

I am looking forward to someone inventing LevitrolleyTM - no need to push, no wonky wheels because no wheels, and it can rise up above the heads of people so there are fewer aisle blockages, and when they do occur, you can squeeze through them while your trolley floats above. We (I) probably need Levitrays for heavy items, such as those four packs of fizzy water and cat litter too.

i was thinking of a brand of jeans rather than ones need for 'uplift'.
cheek lifting trollies are redundant if the jeans are tight enough - when it's more like 'upsquash'.

Good morning, all.
Sunny with a promise of all day sunny. We will probably go to the beach.
A little fruit and veg shopping is needed but that can wait for another, less fine, day.
There seems to be rather a lot of helicopter action this morning. Emergency service sirens are rarely heard here - once or twice a decade - but we hear a fair amount of helicopters. It's just occurred to me that I never thought I'd be nostalgic for the sonic booms of Concord.
Have another glorious day, everyone

No noisy choppers here Scully ... just the twitter of birds on the feeders and some pastoral R3 choices :D just the thing for a morning in the studio.
Not a day for the beach here unless you're fond of a North Sea fret   Enjoy your walk.

I used to see Concord going over when I lived in Sherpherd's Bush in about 1989. I quite miss seeing the Eurostar going through Herne Hill. We used to see it going over on the viaduct (? not sure that's the right word for it) at West Dulwich too. I wonder if it went through the station I use now. V glad it goes to St. P though now and not Waterloo.

I didn't notice the weather at all today. I was very busy at work.

good morning, all.
wet and windy. it has been for some hours. twice this morning, the same cat has landed on me, soaking wet. the first time i was woken up it was pitch black - cooking fat!
i have emailed mr fart to the fact that i live in what he may describe a 'sh-hole country' being a poverty stricken, ethnic minority country in the uk. i have asked advice on where in the world i should move to that couldn't be described as such and that wasn't controlled by a megalomaniac. i had an email back straight away to acknowledge my message which included the paragraphs:-

Thank you for contacting the White House. We are carefully reviewing your message.

President Donald J. Trump believes the strength of our country lies in the spirit of the American people and their willingness to stay informed and get involved. President Trump appreciates you taking the time to reach out.

reach out? - is that what he's doing‽‽‽

i am awaiting the reply with interest.

it's still raining.

ooh it's horrible out this morning. In SE26 (but not central London, I see. Perhaps the weather is moving south) winds of 41mph. It's raining. I didn't want to get up and I don't want to go out! My train has been cancelled so I will wait a bit to get the 2nd after it (which will make me late, but better than having to standing in someone's armpit for a lot of the journey.)

Good morning, all.
In theory it's raining. Please don't tell the sky that - I'd rather have the brightness that's out there at the moment.
We're off in to Truro soon. A bit of lunch followed by the bood donors for me and a bit of a clothes shop for him.

good morning, all.
bright and overcast at the moment. it's going to rain again later. we had some amazing hailstorms yesterday that laid like snow on the way back from 'the big city'.
we had lunch in 'the cornish vegan' a restaurant that has been there for over a year (the last time we ate at that venue it was a vegetarian restaurant called 'the feast' - a couple of incarnations ago); ( - is 'incarnation' the right word for a vegetarian restaurant‽‽). it was really very good and we'll be going again. i showed my non veganism by ordering a cappuccino without thinking that there was no cow's milk, which was fine for my partner, who only drinks soya.
we shared a lentil, mushroom and walnut burger which was really, really good, and a jackfruit in barbecue sauce 'sandwich' (same bun as the burger) and also very nice, both with a really nice coleslaw. as i said, we'll be going again.
we had a short walk on the beach before the flying algal foam and the biting north west wind got the better of us and we came home to warm up. the onshore, strong wind produced boiling, massive surf - really quite spectacular but definitely not surf-able!
today is a day of washing and other hswk.
have a good day, everyone.

Good morning all :D
Back from a gentle game of tennis and still in one piece :) there were some comments as the competitive regular wasn't there ... he plays every game as if he's trying to beat Nadal ... receiving his serve has damaged some wrists and elbows and playing on his side is rubbish as he behaves as if he's playing Singles ... he keeps a record of everyone's scores (we think he has a little notebook) ... the rest of us just keep the score during a game to enable us to know when we've finished  I once had to have a firm word with him as he repeatedly stood at the side of the court bouncing and tossing a spare ball while I was playing. He sulked for the rest of the morning ... it's like playing with a spoilt child. Rant over  The session was very pleasant and easygoing today  :tu:

Now to make lunch ... a cheese omelette maybe? Then Cockaleekie for supper .............. where would we be without chickens? :D

Have a good day folks :D

it was very good. the jackfruit looked like thinly shredded chicken, did not seem to have a great deal of flavour of it's own and didn't have a noticeably chewy texture but the addition of the flavours it was cooked with were very good. it wasn't a sweet fruit.
i thought i should try it after the conversation in the other thread.

That sounds like a lovely morning/early afternoon, Scullion. I am glad that people are making good vegan food now. I hope it's not just a passing trend.

Suffolk, your tennis club sounds like a sitcom (or could be...!) ;)

The weather was beautiful here earlier. We are heading for dusk now so I suspect it's still lovely, and I just can't see it through the office windows. I am in a good mood. I got a genealogy document back from the GRO super early, and I have been told a short play I submitted for a local competition has been shortlisted and will be performed next month. (The audience and a panel of judges judge the 5 selected plays on the night.) I also had a very nice lunch out with my colleagues at our 'office pub'.

Ooh well done you! I've not written a play before (and it's a very short one, as required by the brief.) Short stories are more my thing. So I wasn't and am still not feeling that confident about it. But still very pleased, of course :)

I don't know, Suffs. I put some directions in the script. I hope they don't make my characters camp! I shall ask if I can say that!

It is a competition so it will be script in hand, but they will be professional actors.
