Order yourself a latte, and a pastry (The virtual cinnamon buns are excellent today). And have a nice chat.

Good morning
Sunny again here
Not a trace of rain, and the humidity is falling according to my gauge, which I don't think is very accurate, but it will travel in the right direction I expect
Not done much, I've been reading the Angry Chef book. Must do some stuff
Went for a walk in the cemetery park yesterday, was lovely
Have a good day, c'mon Andy!

Good morning! Duller and cooler today - not a bad thing as a bit needs to be done in the garden. I've got a piece of turf to patch ups some of the holes/dead bits on the lawn. Some rain later might be welcome - although it will be a shame if it rains on the Pride in London parade today!
Have a good day all.

Good morning all
Overcast and cooler here too, but not really cool, think it might be better for Pride if not too hot, save sunburn and heat stroke, but I hope they don't get thunderstorms, my forecast says not today hope that's Westminster too.
Might wander down to the Farmer's Market later.
Have a good day everyone

good morning, all.
overcast, but not as much as it was forecast to be yesterday.
the only item on the agenda is watching the f1 but as i also fancy eating cake (- or biscuits, and have been for a couple of days ) and have plenty of lemons i think you may be able to guess what's on the cards - that and gin and tonic.
i should go and do some shopping - or give my partner a list if he's going out. some hswk wouldn't go amiss either but that may be ignored for a bit longer.
have a restful day, everyone.

Good morning all ... just :D
Watching tennis here ... casserole made this morning to heat up this evening.
May have to feed DS who is working at the Lord Mayor's Celebration ... on the other hand he may not have time to eat ... I think that's the more likely scenario.
Have a good day folks :D

good morning, all.
overcast with overcast to come - but maybe a little brighter later.
yesterday didn't pan out quite as i thought. a friend phoned at around eleven thirty saying she'd pick me up at twelve for a 'club' (who, in better times, i drive the minibus for) outing. after dropping some of the guys home we headed off for a coffee and more catch-up and i didn't get home until six thirty. i found out, after mentioning how bad i felt about not being able to drive the minibus at the moment that the manager at the farm was feeling bad thinking that their minibus had caused my current joint problems. i did point out that it wasn't the cause just an exacerbation.
qualifying was watched as soon as i'd got in and a cold beer handed to me.
maybe read yesterday's post for the rest of today's activity.
have a good day, everyone.

Good morning! Didn't sleep very well last night i either sweat like a pig (nice) or have the fan on full blast (noisy) pointed straight at me making my eyeballs water. Glad to see clouds in the sky this morning which will hopefully herald rain. Even my daily walk will welcome it. Today I plan to do something with red lentils. Not sure what yet.
Have a lovely day everyone.

overcast - i hope it rains today - we're promised it tomorrow but the plants need it today and watering is a pain.
cake didn't get made - which is probably a good thing for our waistlines.
i think my hopes have been listened to, yay! now i just want it concentrating itself on my tomatoes and sweet potatoes in particular, and the random pots of things.
maybe i'll make the cake to celebrate - or biscuits - or both.

Morning all! Quite a bit cooler today. Put on long trousers for the first time in ages to go to the shops. Rain is forecast later - just at the time when I've got to go out for my dental check-up...grrr. It will probably hit Wimbledon too.

good morning, all.
raining - i have a wet cat on me.
thankfully it was dry at eleven last night when we went to check on the glow worms although it may have started depositing a fine mist on the windscreen as we drove home.
i would definitely like to have the day of downpour that we're forecast as i don't have to go anywhere and i won't have to water the veg beds etc (and i don't care if wibblydon is wet).
i started off some 'priory biscuits' (use the search box for the recipe) yesterday but it seems that the recipe doesn't care for the 'spread' i used as the mix is not firm enough to knead. i may just give it another mix around and dollop some onto a baking sheet to see if it'll behave in the baking or just run everywhere.
by the way, i used vitalite - a vegan butter/spread substitute as my partner is eating more vegan products. maybe i should have just gone with the norm/butter - then i would have got to eat most of the biscuits!
have a good day, everyone.

Good morning all :D
I have jeans on rather than loose linen trousers ... couldn't get jeans on with my boot .... and I've cut the front lawn ... OH is o doing the edging with the hand shears as hands and knees stuff isn't that easy for my foot yet.
I've tried driving and not only did the car start ok after six weeks of nothing, but my foot felt fine ... I'm well on the mend. :bounce:
We had some rain last night and 'they' are talking about more today ... but the cucumbers and other stuff in pots still need watering ... their leaves are so big they keep the rain off the pots.
Have a good day folks :D

Good morning everyone. Wow, it didn't stop raining overnight - had to put my earplugs in at one point...There is a nice breeze out but it still feels very hot in the house. I need to open a few windows I think! Looks like there could be even more rain in the grey clouds overhead - lets see.
Have a good day.

Good morning
It stopped raining at some point as the paving is dry
Just looked at the online forecast which told me I was currently experiencing light drizzle but there was zero chance of rain
Need to go and look at plans for a local community development at lunch time then out tonight with the WI looking at a community garden, hope we don't get wet or cold

good morning, all.
sunny with sunny all day.
shopping is needed so i'm going to combine it with the barbecue i'm going to this evening. lidl before for most of the stuff and after, i'm heading to the all night tesco for freezer stuff and to see if the world food isle has the big bags of turmeric - we're running out.
i'll also head round to the baltic shop for mushroom stock cubes - little blocks of wonder.
have a grand day, everyone.

good morning, all.
overcast at the moment. earlier this week 'they' promised us more sun, today, but i think they took most of it away last night.
most of last night's shopping is put away - just a few bits left in bags (that i couldn't be arsed to do last night) are left on the kitchen floor. i'll get round to it soon - after coffee is delivered and drunk - i hope it's soon - i'm putting out the vibes.
only the community garden, this evening, planned for today.
the leftover acquacotta will be dinner.
have a lovely day, everyone.

Last night I walked down to the social enterprise garden at Dalston, had a guided tour with the rest of the WI then we went to the theatre bar for a drink and walked back. I then went to sleep on the sofa, went to bed at 4 am, woke up at 12:03
Will have brunch and coffee

good aftermorning, all.
warm, dry and patchy sun - but mainly overcast at the moment.
spent this morning watching free practice - more to my liking than wibblydon. i find the grunting far more irritating than engine roars
we are off to see 'nell gwynn' at the minack in a couple of hours or so. no pastys, we're having the offering from the takeaway shack in the carpark.

Ive been watching the tennis ... can't be doing with F1 ... :duck: although I used to love
Stock car and Superstox etc ... but I like to see the whole track and everything that's happening.
I've nearly got the house back to rights ... just some shelf tidying and the airing cupboard to be sorted .... and I've a hair appointment on Monday ... no longer will I look like Worzel Gummidge .... if I'd been incapacitated for much longer I'd have been tempted to get OH to cut it :scared:
Enjoy the rest of the day everyone :D

i feel sorry for the revellers at the festival at the eco-park. the weather has been good the last few years but this year has been mizzley. we missed out on getting locals tickets but i'm not too sad that we've missed the dampness.
f1 and lolling on the to do list.

Morning everyone. Blue skies here with feathery white clouds, no hint of rain. Should be good for Wimblydon. I am chilling with yesterday's Mail. It is so hard to complete in one day. I still have the crossword to finish it really stumped me. I kept staring and staring and boggling and boggling until I admitted defeat. I will have another go now.

I have finishing off my massive carrot cake and my lemon drizzle cupcakes for the Sunday Funday on the Common
Wish us luck with the weather :scared:
Annoyingly I looked at my SR flour, decided I probably didn't have the required 175g and popped out for another packet, tipped my original flour onto the scales, 185g
Did discover that the corner shop has a great collection of things like rice flour in conveniently sized boxes :tu: I really should take more advantage of that shop

Oh you slacker. Um, who wouldn't? Did I read here something about grating tomatoes in a recipe and the skins magically disappear? I am too idle to do that and have never been very anxious about tomato skins anyway, do we have much better cultivars now? I think we do.

I have tried grating tomatoes as so many TV chefs present it as a short cut to getting a small amount of perfectly prepped tomato without skin or lumps
Dunno where they get that idea, didn't really work for me
I make a very similar bean dish using flat rather than dwarf round beans, and apparently Turkish in origin. Here tis

good morning, all.
sunny.
my partner and i are showing signs of getting old. he has just tried to run to the front door to answer before the delivery was taken away again and has pulled a muscle in his leg. i have limped to the freezer to get a cold pack for him. he is not a good patient.
it's not all bad though, because fortunately, he'd already made coffee!
i need to go out in a while - we need milk and a few other bits.
have a glorious day, everyone.

ps i make a very similar bean dish to that, sue, we call them greek beans as we had them on a tiny island in the ionian sea.

Good morning
The burning question scully is: did you catch the delivery? :D
Commiserations though that kind of thing is annoying

Yes, I think the green beans are found all round the eastern Med, basically they follow the hummus-tsatsiki-white cheese crescent. Had them first in a grubby Cypriot cafe in Fitrovia but had something similar in Lebanon too.

good morning, all.
overcast and breezy.
yes, he dragged himself there in time. not silently.
he then spent a few hours on bed with his leg raised on the upturned washing basket (with pillow) and a pack of frozen strawberries (they were more disposable than the peas as they'd already, accidentally, defrosted a while back).
he managed to bring the bit of shopping up though. i went to lidl for a knee brace and some milk. i came back with a bit more than that but as he'll be eating most of it i don't feel bad.
nothing on the cards today, i may not even have to water - i think it may have started raining - yay!

Thinking of the people of Coverack this morning ... a place that OH and I have visited quite a bit .... usually a beautiful tranquil place ... I hope they can get themselves sorted out and ready for the summer season very quickly ... most of them depend on the holidaymakers for their livings.
Hope the storms weren't too bad for you and yours Scully

Yes, I keep thinking of Coverack Glory (a daffodil), fortunate that no injuries
Out today visiting the fairly new Brunel museum at Rotherhithe, think the Overground is running but many trains are off as the power lines are down
May have more storms later, we have had rain but not that much
Have a good day everyone

Morning all. Lots of thunder and lightning in South London last night - didn't sleep too well! Buckets of rain too. On its way north now, I think. Forecast to get cooler later in the week.
Have a good day!

Good morning everyone  Woken up to a dull, but humid day

Off to Fitsteps soon, but first need to text someone who has been recommended can/will do a bit of building work for me. I'm not having much luck at the moment .. first guy who was recommended, came out, measured, said he would get back to me in 3 days with a price .. that was 2 weeks ago :( . Second company I called from a number on the side of their van - number not in use :? Sent email to a third builder who was working in the village - no response. So fingers crossed for this latest referral (it was actually his wife who referred him - she is a big spender in the shop ;) )

We had torrential rain last night, so bad I thought it was going to bring down my conservatory .. it's a wonder I didn't get washed away into the Grand Union canal !

good morning, all.
cloudy, bright.
we had a slight smattering of light rain but not enough to water the plants, yesterday morning, along with a couple of distant rumbles in the late afternoon, otherwise we had a fair amount of sunshine. it seems coverack took the bullet for much of cornwall. i didn't see the local news last night but i'll look online for the reports.
a couple of strange dreams were had last night, one of which contained a ginormous, black spider, that i'd originally thought was one of our cats. it jumped on and was wrestling with a black cardigan dropped on the ground nearby - it scuttled away when i went to pick up the garment.
that particular cat - nothing spider-like about him - is now doing a good impression of a sleeping cat on our bed. the wuss would probably run a mile at spider a tenth of the size.
i'm reading a free kindle book at the moment only because it gives the impression that it's set in st ives (st eves - although it also has a marina) i think it may really be chicklit disguised as a detective story - i'm getting the distinct impression there's a reason that it's free although lots of people gave it five stars.
-for those with a kindle or the kindle app - http://uk.dailyfreebooks.com - they aren't all vanity publishing.
have a cosy day, everyone.
