good morning +

Order yourself a latte, and a pastry (The virtual cinnamon buns are excellent today). And have a nice chat.

Good morning all :D
Blue sky and sunshine and a chill breeze here.
Food for the weekend has been bought and stashed away, along with some alcohol ... one of our favourite reds has 25% off at W'rose so I bought a few of those and a bottle of Royal Tokaji for Bro and Sil to go with their Christmas Binham Blue and restocked the Gin Cellar ;) .
I pulled the trolley rather than pushed it ... so much easier on the knees :tu:
Wrap up warm folks :D

Yesterday it rained torrentially as predicted, but dried out later but then there was sleet, then snow.

I can see blue sky right now this morning. I suspect it’s rather cold. BBC says 0 degrees here now with a max of 2 today! But we are going out into the countryside ( I hope...) Yesterday was very grey indeed. We are hiring a car. OH is very nervous. I had forgotten what he was like in Italy’s until I was trying to get to sleep last night. (He had a couple of potentially dangerous meltdowns while driving there. I am hoping that was pre new job nerves  )

Good morning, all.
Overcast and chilly (the beeb says it's 4°c) - brrrrr.
I must get a bit more serious about the hswk. I'm quite good at finding something better/else to do. I wish I was one of those people who like doing it - life would be so much simpler.
The sun is trying to poke through, no snow here - not sure if we've even had frost.
Have a good day, everyone.

Good morning all :D

It was sunny but cold earlier but it's clouded over now so is dull and colder Brrrrrrrrrrr!

Scully ... I used to be so good at h*wk .... my house was spotless and gleaming by ten in the morning every morning ... not a speck of dust dare settle .... that was back in the 70/80s when GPs prescribed Tenuate Dospan as a slimming aid

Enjoy your day folks :D

Never heard of it but looking at the drug info I think I'd rather have a messy house!.
My good excuse (as you know) for having avoided the hswk for the last few months is, thankfully, slowly (too slowly) wearing off so maybe the house will benefit, too.

Good morning, all.
Sun and cloud mix (more sun) and last night's strong wind has dropped to a more normal wind level. No snow - it's 9°c according to the beeb but I may have to go and see how the strelizias and clivias are faring in the garden after the chill of last night (supposedly 4°c).
More hswk - well, more like sort out of old stuff from kitchen cupboards etc is today's occupation.
Have a fun day in the snow, all who have some (lucky you).

good morning, all.
sunny and chilly (5°c) with a bit of breeze.
my partner set his alarm to go off at seven in order to put the recycling out. when he'd done that we both went back to sleep again.
i woke up again at eleven!
there's a 'romantic comedy' on the radio called 'cooking in a bedsit' based on the cookbook. it is filled with snatches of music from the sixties - i haven't heard some of them for decades. it also has eleanor bron reading snatches from the book. i may have to iplayer the first episode just for that.

Good morning, all.
Brightly overcast with a bit of breeze from the west.
Nothing planned although my partner has brought the Christmas tree, bought last year, in from the garden. Methinks he's getting seasonal.
I went to bed early (for me) last night. The problem is that I slept for the usual amount of time, woke at an ungodly time (for me) and after reading for a while - went back to sleep again. Fortunately, I could.
Now, I want coffee! Time to drop a hint!
Have a cosy day, everyone.

Good morning all :D
The snow that arrived and froze hard overnight looks very pretty ... the birds have rediscovered the feeders, the blackbirds are rootling around in the compost heap which we left uncovered for them the other day and OH has put peanuts on the table outside the studio in the hope of tempting the beautiful jay close enough to get a really good look :D
Keep warm folks :D

Good morning
Sunny but very cold here
Today's big task is to TIDY UP
And take some bedding for a service wash, was going to do it myself but it's unnecessary stress and it needs the industrial size dryers
Oh, and get a new phone and contract, that will not be a joy

We have the five pound, recurring goodybag, with giffgaff where calls etc are free to other giffgaff phones. We rarely use all the allowance.

Another Giff Gaff user here, very happy with the service. I too have the £5 month recurring offer. A big plus for us was that they use the O2 network, a major plus when you live in the country as coverage on the other networks range from patchy to non existent.

All set up for tomorrow
My only quibble is that they have no call centre, so no customer service by phone, which is a bit of a worry if the problem is that you can't always read the website, though to be fair theirs is very low vision friendly

good morning, all.
bright but overcast and quite windy.
yesterday, i was at the farm followed by a trip to falmouth - trago and lidl.
i buy lots of the loose nuts at lidl for smoking but there's been a huge increase in in price over the last six months to a year - from about ten pounds a kilo to fifteen for almonds, and ten up to thirteen for cashews and pistachios. why did i feel bad returning the loose and choosing the packeted cashews at nine per kilo? i could have put back the pistachios and taken the cheaper, packeted ones of those, too but they were under a load of other shopping - and i'd also had a funny look from another customer for emptying the cashews back. why should the loose be so much more expensive than the packeted?
it's now raining and the wind has picked up again.
have a cosy afternoon, everyone.

It rained in the night here, then froze. The pavements are absolutely lethal - started out with the old dog - she was unsure and reticent - I nearly measured my length twice, then turned back. I'll take her out later.

You can buy them via Amazon and loads of other places.

sunny at the moment with a promise of rain later.
i bought a pair of yaktrak type things when they arrived as a special in lidl a few years ago, after everyone had said how brilliant they were. they have never been out of the packet. i've been nowhere up country when it's been icy - and would probably forget to take them anyway. not a sensible buy by me!

Good noontime all :D
Bright sunshine here and clear blue skies, but the car windscreens are still frozen hard with amazing patterns of frosty ferns ... even the boot was frozen shut ... I've been out there with some de-ice spray ... seemed a shame but I need to use the car to pick up some truckles of cheese ............
Decorations are up and OH's birthday pressie has been wrapped as has DS's ......... I'll post that one on Monday.
Now I shall drink more coffee and wait for the car to thaw a bit ...
Enjoy your day folks :D

dry at the moment but we are predicted rain to start at about one - and 'they' say it's 10°c out there.
my partner is off to feed and play with the kitten for a while and then head to the dump. i will have to make my own coffee.
a load of necessary chores, to be done before thursday, are beginning to hammer at my consciousness. they will need starting yesterday - or the day before.
coffee is needed so i'll head to the kitchen.

sunny with a light, almost non existent, breeze from the east and predicted thus for the rest of the day.
the first load of washing will be finished soon and the next will then go on. it'll be so nice to get it all dried outside rather than indoors for a change.
my partner seems to have, greedily, taken it on himself to go and 'do' the kitten - it's a shame he doesn't do the litter tray we are having to use for pretty cat!

Nice sunny bright day here, managed to get the last two of his shirts washed dried and ironed before it got dark.

Seems we are all set for lots of fog tomorrow and it may hang around all day which means it will be very cold. Mr. Z is very glad that he retired for the winter.

sunny, about 10°c and faint breeze.
our daughter may be coming down a day early - which means a day less to get the place in a state which she would consider acceptable! i wish there was really such a thing as a 'time turner' - i could do with a few more weeks.

good afternoon
Had friends to stay after the wedding yesterday (which went well) so we have been for a long walk in the sun round Stokey and across the reservoirs. We must have had a very hard frost as the ponds had ice on them still at noon
Saw a cormorant
Will sort out the wedding photos to post for the relevant folk to see
