Order yourself a latte, and a pastry (The virtual cinnamon buns are excellent today). And have a nice chat.

Good morning all :D

Overcast but dry here ... but apparently we're on an amber warning for torrential rain, hail, lightning and the four horsemen of the apocalypse ...

The first sweetcorn of the season was wonderful last night ... straight from the garden into the pot and eaten smothered with butter and black pepper :chops: soooooooooooooooo sweet and tender :tu: Variety Swift if anyone wants to know ... especially developed for growing in the UK.

Moussaka making on the go ... have a good day folks :D

We were held at Didcot Parkway for nearly 30 minutes going out, due to overrunning engineering work, just as well I was with my team captain, so not a problem that I arrived about 10 minutes late. Was supposed to return on the 19.28 but as we got to the semis was quite pleased that it was cancelled as that made my ticket valid on the 20.28, which wasn't full. Came back with the winning team, all old friends which was nice, Got home at about midnight, shattered today,

Good luck with the weather Suffolk, we have sunny intervals and breeze until Thursday it seems

good morning, all.
overcast but no rain forecast (well, no little drops on the pictures).
off to yoga in a bit so i'd better get a move on.
plastering should be happening tomorrow, so a chat with the builder must be inserted between the hswk ( spring cleaning was put on hold during the good weather so it has rather expanded).
have a good day, everyone.

Good morning all :D

Well the four horsemen of the apocalypse are either overdue or they've gone by another route and left us out ... sunny spells and blue patches appearing amongst white clouds now.

Not a lot planned today, but as the rest of the week looks crammed I'll take the opportunity of having a gentle day today.

Have a lovely day folks :D

it's overcast but the met says we have a ten percent chance of rain at the most.
i'm not going to the farm today. i still have some hswk to do that i didn't get done yesterday while i was talking to our builder - and planting the lupin.
then the upcountry young arrive this afternoon for a few days (yes, you knew there was a reason for all the hswk, didn't you‽).
better get on.

Good morning
It was brilliantly sunny a short while ago but has now conformed to the forecast which is cloudy, dry & 20C
A good day to spend an hour in the attic continuing the very gradual clean up - I am determined not to upset any muscles or joints, so I’m only doing it for short periods, as I have to do a fair bit crawling

Might go to Dalston later but more likely won’t bother, perhaps when I go to see the Physio on Friday

Have a good day everyone

No electricity since last night so waiting for the electrician. Due any time after 10
Hope it clears up so I can walk across the wildlife reserve to backgammon, I’ve finally found the short cut through the new flats after I come off the “country” park

I think the rain must be moving north to south. It didn't start until I got to the Elephant. My colleagues said it had been raining for a while. It's still raining a bit in Clerkenwell. A bit misty on the Thames.

Good morning, all.
Overcast at the moment with the promise of sun later. The young have left for a river cruise and I'm off to 'the garden' in an hour.
My trip to the minack was abandoned, yesterday. The friend I was going with is having problems with her replacement knee so called off. I made a couple of calls but it was rather short notice so I called the minack to point out that they could reallocate the seats (the best in the house - boo hoo). They pointed out it was too late for a refund (which I knew) but that she would book us in for another performance. So we'll be going to see Chicago at the end of the season (although we will be able to get a refund for it if that is cancelled in good time) so a win.
Unfortunately, I won't be able to compare my experience of the performance of 'wolf hall' with sue's.
I got to go for a pizza with everyone else so not a disappointing evening at all.
Have a lovely day, everyone.

Good morning all :D

Sounds like a good solution Scully. Sorry about friend's knee ... someone I know had some problems initially and had to rest far more than he'd expected to ... but all is well now. I hope hers settles down quickly.

I've been running a day ahead all week ... I feel as if today is Saturday ... my mood is out of sync with the tasks available ... I might make some scones ...

Have a good day folks :D

Had a quick trip to Ross on Wye to catch up with friends on Wednesday. Dinner in No 3 - bit disappointing after reading how good it was - then yesterday a trip to Laskett Gardens. It was the home of Roy Strong and his late wife - he still lives in the house but gave the gardens over to the National Garden Scheme. It is only a few acres but beautifully laid out - his wife was the theatre designer Julia Trevelyan Oman so there are some very theatrical parts. Well worth booking a look around if you're in the area. When we arrived Roy Strong had just arrived back from his session at the gym! He gave us a cheery wave before disappearing into the house in his black lycra

overcast but no rain forecast. i think we're heading for 'the pottager', near constantine, for lunch. quite a popular place so we should start stirring our stumps. i'm not sure whether the young are awake yet.

unfortunately, hers was done a couple of years ago and has recently started hurting again.

Good morning
Had a slightly wild weekend for me
Went out for a drink with friends on Saturday night and ended up going back to theirs for a chilli. Yesterday was a BBQ which was lovely until I slipped and fell in the garden. Seem to have hurt my arthritic right hip. Very painful but n sign of bruising. Will see if it gets any better, if not I’ll have to consider going for X-ray It’s a nice warm day so walking round indoors barefoot with a stick

Have a good day everyone

My MIL does U3A, Suffs and another couple of friends. Sounds like a good idea.

I signed up for a weekend long writing workshop at the City Lit, but it's not until December. I could do with a kick up the a**e right now, but ironically all the City Lit weekly workshops are on my writing group day. I'd like to do another photography one too.

good morning, all.
brightening - the sun has just popped out.
one large, three part mould made, yesterday, two people soundly chastised for the eating of part of someone else's lunch and, when i got home, a jar of preserved lemons made - the latter was therapy for me!
i may go and remove the rest of the shower cubicle and tray that i started doing on tuesday - and the associated ceramic tiles on the wall. i want a more walk in type shower arrangement rather than one with (horrendous) patterned glass sides. (they may be re-purposed as a cold frame).
the sun has slid in again.

Looks like a lovely sunny day down your way today Scully 8-) We've got sunshine but some lumpy grey clouds are dotted around up there too in a sort of threatening manner. We had torrential rain and hail yesterday afternoon and the gods were rattling their furniture around somethin' alarmin'

I've already been shopping today, so shall spend some time in the studio again .... but I've treated myself to a Saturday Guardian (do like a paper to hold and scribble on rather than a website) so I may find myself lounging on the sofa with that every so often ;)

Have a lovely day folks :D

good morning, all.
yup - sunny.
i didn't get as wet as i thought i might, yesterday - the daylong downpour predicted yesterday downsized itself to a couple of short sharp showers.
the first load of washing will be going on soon - after i've finished my coffee, and i may go and chip some more tiles off later - and the rest of the bags of potatoes need harvesting, too.
that all looks as though it'll happen by eleven so i'd better get a wiggle on.

good morning, all.
wet and overcast.
there is/was a red alert for being able to see the aurora all over the uk, this morning. why couldn't it have been on a clear night‽‽
lots of bramble removing, salad (and vietnamese mint) planting and tile removing achieved yesterday. i also picked myself a small bunch of roses - i thought they might suffer with todays weather so they are adorning the living room instead.
today - well, in a coupe of minutes, i will be watching the f1.
i am in a quandary as to whether i want to eat indian or tartiflette, tonight. i may give the decision to him.
have a good day, everyone.

Good afternoon
Just had a sharp shower here, definitely an autumnal feel to the world
Should pick some herbs to freeze I think, and trim my mint as recommended by Monty Don; I actually have two pots so they get haircuts alternately
Have a good day

good morning, all.
overcast at the moment, after rain, and with the promise of brighter later.
more tile smashing this afternoon and some young passionflowers to pot up.
i should also chop back some mint (and lemon balm) but they're in flower and look rather lovely - except for the touch of rust (another good reason for chopping it back).
the coffelepathy doesn't seem to be working.
have a good day, everyone.

Good morning
It hissed down all day yesterday so never touched the herbs
Today the sun is coming and going but we aren’t threatened with rain

Scully, I have two questions I have been meaning to ask you
1. Pineapple doufer- any particular type or make? I looked on Amazon and found very mixed reviews

2. Salamanca - going on holiday in October which includes a day trip to Salamanca. I’ll be fine but my friend is fretting about whether or not the paths are steep and cobbled (which she can’t cope with) - I’ve looked on Google Earth and it doesn’t look too bad - thoughts?

Have a good day everyone
