Order yourself a latte, and a pastry (The virtual cinnamon buns are excellent today). And have a nice chat.

Cool cloudy and bright here. Still hitting quite high temperatures around mid afternoon in this neck of the woods. 18 predicted today, 20, tomorrow. Still not got rid of my tomato plants, but knee a bit painful for physical labour, still.

Good morning all :D

Sunny and mild with a milky sky ... think we're in for a warm day. OH has gone to work ... not usually one of his days but a colleague is on holiday and they've deliveries today and tomorrow so they need him in.

I've got a small load in the machine but otherwise we're up to date with laundry. Supper will be a sort of Pasta puttanesca but with added tomatoes to help use up the last of the one that have ripened indoors ... only a couple of pounds left .... so today will mainly be finishing off the jacket ... very pleased with the way it's looking so far :tu:

Have a lovely day folks :D

Good morning (just)
Cloudy but dry and warmish here too - forecast feature clouds with headlamps

Done all my laundry too Suffolk, including a wool wash which always makes me nervous. Everything has come out well though
Just some ironing left and various little errands to run.
Have a good day everyne

Good morning all :D

A few other things happened which got in the way of completely finishing the jacket so that'll be today's 'job' :D

We're considering a takeaway this evening ... a brochure through the letterbox this morning says a new place has opened up within our range for free delivery and it offers 'traditional Chinese dishes' so we may try it out just for the heck of it.

Have a good day folks :D

Edited to say: Have just read some online reviews ... we will not be having a takeaway from there!

We may get one from elsewhere ... or OH says he may cook something ...

good morning, all.
darkish at the moment but the sun will be here soon (hopefully).
lovely and sunny yesterday - i left the washing out last night as, by the time we got home, it was damp again.
hopefully the fence will be finished today. it was delayed, yesterday, by a chat with a furniture maker and a rock.
i'm at the farm in an hour or so but will be holding posts straight later.
now, i need a coffee.
have a glorious day, everyone.

Good morning all :D

Hope the mission is successful and enjoyable Scully. My experience of the Lizard has been of almost invariable dampness ... with the exception of some lovely days at Coverack. :D

We're heading south to visit DD as she has a day off work while her car's in the garage having some bits and bobs done.

Have a lovely day folks :D

good morning, all.
it's a bit wet and windy out there to say the least.
i'm not going south just to get wet and wind swept - although it may be preferable as there is a ton of hswk to be avoided.
the trip down the lizard was very good - we learned what we needed and came back with some lumps of granite. the rain stopped before we got to helston and the sun came out. you have been unfortunate with your trips down there, suffolk; i can honestly say that i can't remember it raining when i've been - but then i suppose i can pick my day!
my promised coffee hasn't materialised yet.
have a cosy day everyone.

We still love the Lizard Scully ... the sunny spells more than make up for the sea frets and rain 8-)

Hope all hatches are well battened ... radio travel reports make it sound a bit grim down there as well as up in west Scotland.

Big casserole being made ... lots of it will be frozen ... the rest will be for supper tonight. Then I'm going in the studio.

Have a good day folks :D

It's been blowing a hooley all night here - my BIL's fence has been blown down - OH said it probably wasn't put up properly
Forecast is pretty grim for the next 48 hours so apart from going down to the front to see the waves with GS later, I will be snugging in for the duration.
We were near Helston last month for the funeral of a great friend - she missed her 90th birthday by just a couple of months. Her late husband's great grandfather was Borough Surveyor and suggested that the pond in Coronation Park in Helston be built. Both of them are scattered on the pond.

good morning, all.
it's still blowing with nearly sixty mile an hour gusts but is predicted to decrease soon-ish. it's still raining.
i didn't go out yesterday. i may have to go and see how many of the bramleys have been blown down - before the badger gets them - and collect up the chestnuts. we have actually got a descent crop this year - i think the squirrel may have bit the dust (hooray!).
my partner went out - the fence is still standing (another hooray).
we had my take on 'blue bar' nachos for dinner last night - it felt like cold weather comfort food.
have a good day, everyone.

good morning, all.
we have some blue sky - and stillness (comparatively - i count ten mile an hour as still).
i am going to the interment of a friend, later this afternoon, followed by a visit to another who is very ill in hospital. one of those days.
we are supposed to take cake or scones to the former but as there is always more taken than can be eaten i'm thinking that i'll take a jar of jam to go with any scones taken - i would take cream, too, but there are a couple of judgemental (or should i say evangelical?) vegans who will be going.
they may have only been vegan for five years but they are still 'better' than someone who has been vegetarian for over fifty - oh well.

May the saints preserve us  from evangelism of all sorts .... especially at that sort of event Scully
Best thoughts for your poorly friend.

It looks nice down your way ... the rain has reached East Anglia ... no wind, just the very wet penetrating sort of rain. I knew it was coming so went out earlier to pick chard and herbs for supper before it arrived :)

Apart from picking veg and peeling spuds I've been in the studio this morning ... now it needs to be left for a while, so knitting in front of whatever's on the telly is likely.

Have a lovely day folks. :D

good morning, all.
it's just beginning to get light and i think last night's rain has stopped.
we are forecast sunshine today.
i bought the last four pasteis de nata in sainsbury's, yesterday, from the 'fancies' counter. the baker came round, checked whether there were any boxed ones on the shelf (i already had) and charged me the boxed price rather than the much dearer selection price. i like that man. (he looked like he could be partial to his wares!)
off to the farm in an hour where the kiln will be unpacked, some glazing done and some more clay will need to be bought. i have been asked to make (with the guys) some things that are too large to fit in the kiln we have at the moment. there are three alternatives!
better head to the shower even though i could easily go back to sleep - maybe a coffee before the shower ...
have a grand day, everyone.

good morning, all.
brightly overcast with the temptation of a bit of sun later.
a couple of loads of washing will go on and some hswk will be done.
the men to repair a garage roof were supposed to start this morning but a call (to say one of the workers has been vomiting for most of the night) has put it off until tomorrow. the weather will still be ok tomorrow, by the forecast.
sorry, forgot to say -
have a grand day, everyone.

Bright sunshine and blue skies here. Washing is in the machine ... no hswk will be done today ... I'm going into the studio ... risotto for supper won't take a lot of organising.

Morning. Dull with a gleaming of sunshine here.

Very glad it's Friday, and a slightly shorter working day. Not very happy at work at the moment...

The weather for the weekend looks quite good. Autumnal walk with camera weather :D although I will be down in undergournd tunnels (yet) again on Sunday afternoon.

Sunny here and a nice weekend forecast, which is just as well as there are a number of local events planned

Really need to get to a garden centre and prep my pots for the winter intended to get it done before I went away but weather & life in general got in the way

sunshine again.
the roofers are at the garage, well, the carpentry part are. they are saying that the wood doesn't need replacing - "baltic pine, lovely stuff, better than the crap you get nowadays" - hopefully it'll be cheaper than quoted then - unless they're hoping to keep the ordered wood!
my partner has just let me know that he has broken a bit off the end of a beam (to be replaced) - he will be pointing it out to the carpenters.
i am here, drinking coffee - although i think i have the worst of it as i intend to clean the bathroom in a bit - a far more unenviable task to my mind.

nothing planned for today other than maybe bagging up the junk from the garage roof and taking it for recycling/the dump. the roofers come back to put on the fibreglass layer on monday.
some hswk was done yesterday (hang out the bunting) so i won't feel guilty about doing none today.

It's a glorious morning and bread is rising here too :hi5: ... we forgot to buy any when we went shopping yesterday so as it's quicker and more economical to make it if we're not going out for something else, a wholemeal loaf is in progress.

I was just heading for the studio when the postie arrived with a parcel of plants from a friend in Devon ... as it's so glorious outside I'll plant them now and sow the broad beans at the same time.

I might get into the studio later .............

Dank and misty out, the fluffs have joined it. What a lovely day it was yesterday, we dug up bracken and ferns for our lovely neighbour she is creating a new area on a bank and wanted it to be mainly ferns so we have obliged and removed some from our bank and places they should not be in - recycle !

good morning, all.
sunny with the odd cloud.
some groundwork will be done today and a little garden tidying. i will also be potting up the echiums which have strayed into a pile of soil and moving a rosebush, into a pot, that has been surviving on a pile of stones and skinny soil/dug up montbretia. it may not be the time of year but i'm not sure it would survive the winter if the temperature dropped more than normal (i lost my strelizias in the cold snap earlier this year so i'm being a bit wary - i will protect the clivia a little better this year, too).
i've started the coffilepathy - it doesn't seem to be working yet.

Big pot of coffee here Scully, help yourself :mug:

The bread made yummy toast this morning :chops: I really must make it more often ....

The weather was so glorious and the painting not really dry enough to work on, so I spent most of yesterday in the garden ... the broad beans have been sown, plants have been potted and faffing about has been done. 8-)

OH has set off to work ... the Archers is on ... I'll wash up the egg cups and other detritus, prep the veg for supper and then I will be in the studio ....

the second load was made up quicker than i'd expected - the daft boy (cat) jumped on my lap without looking too hard, landed with a front paw in my cup of coffee, splashing it all over me, jumped out and dripped coffee over a rug on the sofa.
it was a full cup - i made a fresh one - who knows where his foot had been before being washed by the coffee.

Well, I have stripped the bed, sorted the laundry, started the laundry, and done the sort of vacuuming of the bedroom that requires every piece of furniture to be moved
I have found my missing necklace I thought it was in the house and was worried that it might be on the parquet, where it wouldn’t show up as much the same colour, it’s transparent amber and I was worried I’d find it by standing on it. That was part of the reason for the vacuuming. Turns out I’d quite sensibly put it in the drawer of a mini chest with some other stuff (which is where I looked first) but it’s lined with black plush and evidently I can’t see translucent beads against matte black
Off shopping soon. Don’t need much but need some bits

good morning, all.
it's bright but i don't think the sun has really got up far enough to decide what it's going to do yet. the forecast says it's cloudy with brighter later.
the garage roof should be finished today and i'm off to yoga in an hour and a bit. i'm not sure whether i'll go down to the garden this afternoon or not. there's not a great deal to do.
glad your plumbing's getting done quickly, suffolk, nothing worse than having to do the washing by hand.
how's this for an overpriced property?
the needy, female cat has taken it upon herself to guard the bedroom overnight. she used to take her place next to the door but for the past couple of weeks has been spending the night across the doorway (on the outside), moving when the day starts. i know she's there in the night - she's a noisy washer.
have a good day, everyone.

Good morning all :D

Bijou ... isn't that what the Estate Agents say?

All was sorted by 9.15 and yesterday's mopping up towels are having a hot wash and there's a good stiff breeze so they won't take too long to dry :tu:

Cupboard under the sink has been re-filled and bread has been made and is proving .... the world is back on an even keel for a bit.

Have a good day all :D

Oh but isn't it pretty? :luv: Like something from Sean the Chef (yes I know- but it's on one of the TV screens when I'm at the gym and I've become a bit of an addict.... )

Seriously, I suppose the price reflects the location, the quaintness and the fact that it's a (presumably lucrative) holiday let.

It is in an idyllic spot, with a great view of the harbour for the winter storms https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYesEAOLdhc

Fantastic for a photographer ...

good morning, all.
still quite dark - that could be because sunrise is at a couple of minutes past eight or because there's a little cloud at the moment. i think it's the former as it's inching towards lighter as i type.
off to the farm in an hour but i would rather stay in bed and go back to sleep - my body definitely doesn't want to get up.
have a good day, everyone.

good morning, all.
sunny at the moment.
not a lot planned - i need to go shopping at some time but we may eat from the freezer for a couple of days instead.
i've tweaked my back picking up rubble sacks, yesterday afternoon, so didn't sleep too well last night. it feels slightly better this morning but i'm not going to push it.
a bit of washing needs doing, and a loaf of bread made with the bit of dough saved from monday (if it's still ok) will happen.
i've drunk my coffee so i'd better get on.
have a good day, everyone.

Good morning all :D

Take care Scully

Sunny here too, but it feels as if it's getting cooler.

Washing to be done here ... then into the studio ... no real cooking to be done as there's enough of yesterday's pasta meal left for OH's supper ... he really liked it (a macaroni cheese with leek and bacon bits added). I'll probably have pasta puttanesca or similar.

Have a lovely day folks :D
