If I'd been there I'd have had to stuff my fist into my mouth ... as it was, if I hadn't had a mouth full of pork sausage I'd have probably yelped too :o

I had a spoonful of raspberries and fromage frais mid-way between dish and my mouth. The whole hameau must have heard me yell !

Miss Sulky v Miss Determined. Venus next though.

I do like watching Venus! I really fancy strawberries or raspberries so will settle for my remaining blackberries with squirty cream.

Really looking forward to watching Murray today although I know nothing about Querry. I am going to gorge on strawberries today as I have now finished my blackberries and must have some berries in.

I quite like Querrey. He can be a dangerous floater but Murray should win fairly comfortably , a loss would certainly be a bad performance. I'm looking forward more to Muller/Cilic. As for Venus - can't stand her, though I prefer her to Serena

I'm afraid I have to agree Catherine. There's something just too commercial and false about the two of them.

I will be glad when its all over. Can't stand to watch a ball bounce back and too let alone listen to the grunting. But it wouldn't do for us all to be the same would it. :D OH watches it, he watches anything to do with sport. If rolling wet matches up hill by blowing through a straw with hands tied behind backs and people blindfolded were a sport he would sit and watch it

I missed every stroke of the Murray match as I was out but Dad was texting me regular updates. Towards the end I felt glad I had missed it, disappointing, but will watch the highlights shortly.

Does your dad go for a pint? Ask him which pub, if he does - I live on the canal you told us he inhabits

Ah yes Gruney I remember you mentioned that before! He moves about when the weather is good enough and usually sends me a photo of pub and name of location when they do move. If you PM me your boat name I can ask him to look out for you. I can PM you his if you like. Who knows, you may already know each other! Such is life I can gather on a canal!

I don't live on a boat - I live about 100 yards from the Ashby. The pub I use is frequently used by boaters - particularly those who moor up for the winter.

Well, I'd have liked a longer match, but how nice to see a match in which both players played well and clean, no soap operatics, no pouting, no racket abuse. :hi5: :D

Martina's hair looks weirdly flat, as if she's spent a week in a beanie hat and she could do with tinted moisturiser, but other than that she doesn't look too bad to me

Not yet! As much as I love tennis, both playing and watching, I'm always glad at the end of the two weeks. The traffic is abysmal, which doesn't bother me much as I don't use a car in London, but the walk up to the tube station in Southfields takes a long time going against the human traffic both ways. I like to walk fast which is an utter impossibility with people 3, 4 abreast on both sides of the road.

It has advantages though as the local shops tend to over cater for the picnic crowd and last night, coming back from drinks in town with friends, I popped into the mini Sainsbury's and would have been able to pick up a whole host of sandwiches to include smoked salmon and cream cheese, horseradish and beef, crayfish and rocket specials etc for 39p each. I chose a modest selection to nibble on today. Strawberries at 20p a punnet too!

I have been out most of the day so only caught a little bit. One thing I have picked up on is Sue Barker's constant giggling in front of the camera. I love her, she was a great player of course, such a good presenter and such a lady! But once I noticed it I can't un-notice it!
Looking forward to tomorrow men's SF's. I should be home after a stroll to see my GP and a quick shop so will probably see most of it.

I have been watching the mixed doubles in between adding coats of paint to the rusty bit I found on my car. :)

But this weekend I will be away, probably with no TV. I will be pretending to be a roadie with the church choir in Chester. They are doing the some of the services in the Cathedral on Saturday & Sunday, ending with Evensong on Monday.

We were going to stay with a uni friend, but she will now be in hospital having her gall bladder out...

Well, Catherine is installed at the tennis and Archie has just taken me for a walk!

When he arrived he had certainly had his Weetabix and a manic investigation of the garden and house took place. He then decided that my hostess skills weren't to satisfaction as surely working on a computer was not as much fun as playing so we came to a compromise and he sat, head in my lap having a tickle whilst I attempted to type one handed.... He is now lying splayed out on the cool kitchen floor and hopefully going to have a siesta!
