Pleased to inform everyone that Olivia is out of neo-natal and looking healthy!!

Morning everyone

Quick pop in because we have friends coming for lunch en route north - like most of France this weekend it seems. See you all later I have nappies to change among other things.

is this the first case of surrogacy we've had? ratatouille having the birth instead of patsy‽

(and is it possible for rats to put the other t in - i keep reading it to rhyme with mater, pater, nigel slater etc).

  I noticed the spelling mistake too. 10 to 11, I have completed all work tasks and waved goodbye to the apprentices. If I can just get the trainer to bog off home, I can go too, I shall start locking up and turning out lights I think, nothing quite like a big hint is there

Back again, Welcome Olivia, that was a difficult delivery.
Further investigation reveals that the bottom shelf of the cupboard where the pet food is kept has been raided but the towels not touched which tends to confirm raiding cats. We shall have to keep the back door closed which is a nuisance as we usually have it open to keep a through draught at this time of year.

Good afternoon! Congrats on the rebirth of Olivia.

A glorious day here, dare we hope for an 'Indian summer'? It would be so nice to have two days in a row without grey skies or rain. I bought a new summer dress for hot, lazy days this year and haven't worn it at all. Been to SW this morning and have night shift later. After this little break I intend going for a walk.

  Suffs ... where would our boys be without their mums? It doesn't mention in any of the baby books that one will be called to the rescue at short notice for ever  .

The mystery of the missing food is keeping us all intrigued Moira - and Sloe, you are brave and crazy but it will be worth it!

I too have read Rio's post and applaud the stance. As ever, we are so grateful to Rio for the Wildie site and hope that somehow it will all work out.

It goes on and one ... the abysmally inept estate agent has now raised everyone's blood pressure by phoning around saying that she's lost DS's house key ........... totally forgetting that he took it from her after she left the house unlocked twice and once with the front door open (apart from security/insurance etc he has a cat who has never been outside ... and she knew this)

Oooh, I didn't realise I was due to give birth I didn't have any symptoms at all and I was busy at Zumba, so good that someone was prepared to be a surrogate, so thanks Rats and I approve of the name ;)

I have read Lee's post and sincerely hope that a solution can be found ... I don't understand much of the reason why, but of course like others would be devastated if this forum couldn't continue, so everything crossed... :kneel:

Suffs, estate agents can be difficult - DS was one once - I hope he was rather more professional at it though

Lee, We would all hate it if we Wildies were disbanded but I utterly agree with your point of view. Very good luck in the quest!

Just to make it clear it would be my intention to continue elsewhere if I can. But that may not be an option.

Patsy, the issue is that US law enforcement want to hand over user data for visitors to a website (specifically one which was involved in organising protests after Trump's inauguration). Now they've already been told the information they originally wanted was too broad so they backed down and re-requested a somewhat narrower subset of information and the court has granted the request.

However the amount of data they want is still ridiculously huge. AND the court refuses to give the company a stay to consider an appeal (essentially IMO trying to force them to comply).

At best it's a fishing exercise on behalf of law enforcement.

I have a lot of experience of estate agents ... My uncle and a friend founded Connells. I have worked for two solicitor as well as buying and selling quite a few properties in my time. Take it from me ... this one is unprofessional and inept

Edited to say: sorry, that sounded a little terse ... I have been on my mobile at the hairdressers sorting out yet another example of her ineptitude ... she has not contacted the people she said yesterday that she would - she said yesterday that this would be her priority this morning

Nothing anyone here has done today remotely compares with my triumphs.

I phoned HMRC.

I got through to someone - eventually, admittedly.

The young man I spoke to was patient, understanding and helpful!

He agreed with me - I will no longer have to complete a tax return!

Now come on - HMRC? The outfit that last year hounded me with threats over an underpayment of something like £3? I call that a result! :D

Have just read Lee's message :o I DO hope things can be worked out! I would hate to lose this board and lose touch with everybode, some of whom I've 'known' since the old Beeb days.

Had a great, if rather expensive day out 2day. Went to the annual Brighouse Charity Jigsaw Festival, which runs until Monday. Some 1000 completed jigsaws are up for sale, with all proceeds going to local charities, There was an extremely wide selection of puzzles, catering for every taste. I got 5 500 piece ones, (4 came as a boxed set), and a 750 piece one - total cost £24 including £2 entry fee. But they were all new, and with lovely pictures. I also met a pusscat outside the church - a beautiful white Persian, who was VERY friendly, considering I was a complete stranger! :luv:

Looking forward to going back next year already!

We already have the Facebook page which Lee set up when the Beeb board was closing so we could keep in touch. It is called Food. I am loathe to put a link as it contains information about people and this is a public page. That said, it is a public Facebook page - I think a closed group might be better if we went down that route again. I means that someone has to be in charge of it and accept newcomers but I am sure that could be arranged.

Morning all. I thought I was doing really well after my gallbladder op, only to end up in A&E yesterday with severe vomiting. Spent the night on a surgical ward, have no idea what will happen today :? At least the vomiting seems to have stopped but I haven't eaten since yesterday morning. Will have to wait to see what the dr days later, hope I'm not stuck in here too long. At least there is wifi

Hi smitch,

Very sorry to hear that and hope you will be on the mend soon. Thank goodness for WIFI.

Lovely sunny morning here. Time for Jasmine tea. Think I might head into town later for a walk or maybe I'll just sit in the garden and relax.

Hope everybody has a good day.

Are there no places you can sit outside within the hospital smitch? Visiting my ex recently the hospital had a small outside area for those allowed to 'circulate'? However, due to vomiting you are perhaps isolated as you wouldn't want to spread it. Hope you get out soon and can relax in the sun/shade.

There is a food festival in Wimbledon Park this weekend. It costs about £6 for entry. Last year I took my eldest and we stayed about 20 minutes for a drink ( very expensive). Food was not inspiring apart from for the sweet toothed. No tastings and the food demonstrations geared for beginner cooks. Rather a waste of money but good facilities for children. Think I'll give it a miss this year but I may head to the farmers market which for once will seem good value! :D

I am not keen on Facebook either, I am a member as part of a local group. The group is run very firmly by a couple of local techies and mainly concerns local matters, they are very concerned about water leaks at present, personal matters are deleted.
