At this time of year, I always like to share some favourites for food / drink gift ideas. If you are still looking for presents for foodies in your life, you might like one or more of these...

AND it includes one of those expensive alcohol advents y'all were raising the eyebrows about!

(By the way, I didn't know until yesterday that'd we'd be reviewing any of the MoM calendars, it was a last minute offer from their new PR lady!) If the calendars are too spendy, my other favourite buy from them are their tasting sets, 5 drams to a theme. I've bought a fair few of these for Pete's bthday and xmas over the years.

I love the idea of sending cheese... several years ago an online cheese shop set up business, I suggested two new selection boxes for them, and they became their best seller boxes, which was very nice. I love cheese as gifts, but has to be really good cheese.

I'm going to look for that Solway Spirits Gin, thanks!

Thank you for this link. You look so delighted with your marzipan there, and so would I be. One of my favourite foods on the planet, especially enrobed in a good quality chocolate.

I spotted an online advent calendar, well a number of them, and the one that stood out for me was filled with nail varnishes behind each door. I might have to think about if I can treat myself. Failing that, I could probably get a block of dark chocolate and a block of marzipan and conjure up something of my own making.

Nail varnish, I have a friend who'd love that!

Niederegger marzipan is so good, I love that it's more almond than sugar and the various flavours are so good. That photo is from a few years back but I make sure I have some Niederegger in every year!!!

I want one! Is having a nail varnish one and a marzipan one greedy?

Well the nail varnish one is reduced, I'm assuming because after advent starts the can't sell them anymore... so it's a bargain!
For the marzipan, better to get one of their regular boxes of mini loaves rather than the advent calendar, it's cheaper and easier to get your hands on, online or Lakeland often stock them.
