What do you make of this?

Order yourself a latte, and a pastry (The virtual cinnamon buns are excellent today). And have a nice chat.

What do you make of this?

Postby Ratatouille » January 8th, 2018, 1:36 pm

On 6th December I ordered a nice bottle of wine from an Amazon market place seller to be delivered to a dear friend for Christmas.

She rang me on the 28th to thank me saying that it had been delivered that day - for the first time.

I complained
Then today I got this.

Message from 3rd party seller:
Dear Joan,

We are extremely sorry you received your parcel late.

We shipped the parcel next day after your order, but if courier company can't deliver in time due to Christmas rush, what can we do?

Things like these are not in our hand.

I can process refund of £3.50 which was our shipping charge if you willing to change feedback to 5 stars.

Have good rating is extremely important to us and will try our best to sort this issue out.

Best regards,
Sid

Did it give you a delivery estimate when you placed your order?

Yes, first one was 10-12th December which was altered to 16th on the 13th, with no explanation.

Contact Amazon and complain vociferously ... they should not ask you to alter your feedback in exchange for the refund of shipping .... no way!!! The minimum they should do is to give you your shipping charge refund immediately and without conditions ... they should then either change their shipping company to another more reliable firm or change the Estimated Delivery Date on their Amazon page.

Grrrrr!

In fact ... I'd be so cross I think I would alter my feedback to include their demand that you change it and then happily forgo the refund ... Grrrrrr! Grrrrrrr!

I only got this message today and I am not going to be bribed so I have passed the message on to Amazon.

I think I would accept their explanation, delivery is out of their hands, they did apologize & offer to refund postage.
My only issue is that their are holding a gun to your head in return for 5 star rating, but is that a big deal really
Your friend enjoyed the wine & thanked you for it, so no harm done, these things happen
I personally would go along with the supplier in this instance
You could try to see if you can give the courier a poor rating though

Sorry Terry but if this firm wants to be taken seriously they have to get a reliable courier and yes i do think trying to bribe a customer to improving their rating is rather a big deal.

I have given the courier firm-Hermes- several bad ratings in the past and had I known that was the firm they were using I wouldn't have placed my order.

I’d report it to Amazon too, especially since the seller has tried to get you to change your review in exchange for a postage refund. That isn’t acceptable at all. Couriers are so variable. Our local Hermes driver is great but I’ve had a bad experience when I lived somewhere else.

Delivery is not out of their hands ... it's part of the service they're selling ... it's up to them to employ a reliable delivery firm.

 I'm sorry but I think that's a huge deal ... how can other customers take the Amazon review system seriously if people lie for money?

Are they having a laugh???? get the refund and change initially to 5 starts then write a further report saying exactly what they have done. Utterly disgraceful customer service

How very silly of them to suggest you might like to do that!
