The strangest/scariest things you have done in your sleep

I've been a sleep walker for as long as I can remember. Not so much recently, but since living alone, who knows?

I have a scary story and an embarrassing story in amongst the years of stories! The scary one - I got up to visit the loo the first night living in a new house. Turn right used to be the toilet. Turn right was now the stairs. I shot down the full flight and only knew about it when I woke up at the bottom. The embarrassing one - staying at my new boyfriend's shared house, same thing. Woke up for a wee but instead of finding the bathroom I found the landlord's vacant (thank God!) bedroom and perched myself on the edge of his bed! As luck would have it, boyfriend came to find where I'd gone and woke me before I did the deed!

My latest adventure is less exciting but odd. This morning I've been making soup. I usually have a clean t-towel hanging on the front of the oven and a very pretty, floral one folded up on top of the lid of my casserole which I use like an oven glove. It never leaves it's spot, only to be washed, but this morning, gone. I searched the flat which didn't take long, even in places you wouldn't think of putting a t-towel including handbag. Checked the landing and stairs in case! No. The last thing I checked was underneath my duvet. Ta-da! It was in my bed! Aw, I must have fancied cuddling it in the night! Weird.

Have you got any tales that are sharable?

When we were first married we lived for a few months with my mum. OH had a tendency to nightmares - waking up shouting etc and often went walkabout - once waking up in the wardrobe. One morning my mum said - something really strange happened last night. I put my alarm clock next to the bed as usual and when it went off this morning it was on top of the wardrobe  So we can only assume that OH had wandered into her room.

That could have been really spooky had you not known about OH's tendances!

I had a very brief spell of sleepwalking as a child but nothing as an adult...... Until about two weeks after Irma. I was starting to get hugely exhausted. We had a 6am call, chaos all day and then a 8pm call. Then I embarked on cooking dinner for the 18 people in the house and then a final call at 11pm. After about two weeks of this, the house was full of military, aid workers etc. I went to bed one evening - and woke up to find myself in nothing but a towel standing at the end of an army chap's cot - with him asking me if I was alright. Rather embarrassing and I could have put him in quite a compromising position....
