Order yourself a latte, and a pastry (The virtual cinnamon buns are excellent today). And have a nice chat.

Yes indeed.
An abstract thought, who ends up having to deal with the awful neighbours? The man off his trolly every night (and what a difficult neighbour to have) did sound as though he needed more help than he was getting.

There is, of course, the possibility that his new neighbour might provide more help than he needs.

Part of the problem with such challenged/challenging neighbours is that most people are kind and tolerant and don't like to complain ... because they are so incredibly overstretched (both with personnel and funds) the support services always assume that if no one is complaining then things must be pootling along fairly well ... until things build to a head of steam which blows up (usually at a weekend) and things have to be dealt with as an unplanned emergency, which never works well or deals with underlying causes.

But looking to brighter things ... let's hope we soon hear from Tezza that she's feeling at home and content in her new place :D

Just a very quick one, reading this in Costa waiting for signing on, to say.......

I :luv: :luv: :luv: my new abode!!!!!!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I popped in this morning to deal with getting the gas / electric switched to me, top up the meter, staying with mum for now until white goods arrive, told mum 'lay off the baked beans!!!' as we are sharing a double bed. I promised her same. I noticed today the flats are surrounded by lawn planted daffs out in bloom. Stephen (rose) and Harold (chilli) and all my cacti are enjoying their new windowsillic (is that a word???) home, I am doing this :bounce: all over the place!

Right, a stroll through The Mall. Me and my mum are going to look at carpets, curtains and lampshades while we are here!

Tell you more about the rest later! :tu:

Gosh! The Coop Divi!

My mother and grandmother had numbers with the Plymouth Coop. Mother's was quite early - 0026 and my grandmother's was a lot higher.

Am just having my first breathe of the day after mum ran me my first bath since I left my pre-bedsit house! I have been showering in between, of course! Having such a damaged spine, lowering myself into and pulling myself out of a bath was almost impossible then, but tonight waswonderful! I was singing 'Am gonna wash that Road right out of my hair!'

Today I noticed I have an airing cupboard with enough lower storage space for my hoover, broom, mop and bucket and a cold store larder in the kitchen. This, on top of five overhead cupboards, three underneath cupboards and four drawers. I will have space in my bedroom for my queen size bed plus my single bed in case my nephew, mum or a friend want to sleep over. See what i mean by huge! I am now geared up for choosing paint colours for decor, also will have a look at Noah for furniture. I like a mish mash of colours, so not bothered about sofa etc matching paintwork, although will go for some neutrals.

Have been rooting through some of my kitchenalia and plant pots in my mum's garage this afternoon. :tu:

You can see for yourself how it's all coming along as I will be planning a flat warming party soon, date to be announced, so get your glad rags at the ready!

suffs - if you're offering to be cocktail waitress I'll get you a pinny for the occasion. :cocktail:

Grassy - fresh pink lemonade tickle your fancy?

Any other requests folks while we are at it?

Mum spotted today a quite badly filled in hole from living room to kitchen, not that bad though; I didn't notice it - a hatch of course! Sitting here wondering - cover it with a painting or knock it back through and go retro! Get some larva lamps dotted around. Very Abigail's Party! 'Go on Sue, have a little top up, that's it' I have already decided to fill the place with paper lantern ceiling lamp shades and bead curtains. Oh dear, I feel a theme developing.....

Be careful knocking through that hatch in a rented flat Tezza, get the landlords permission first.

Diet tonic and Ice please while you're in the kitchen.

Always diet tonic in the drink's cabinet Chinch, I love the stuff. Plenty of ice for all!

So glad to hear you breathe...... you sound content and long may it stay that way......

All I would say is....... live in it for a while before making expensive decisions..... watch which way the sun comes in, where trees might cast shadow when 'leaved'. It will give you more idea on what goes where and colours to choose. We moved into our latest house 11 years ago and said, we would do this and that..... Left it, and glad we did, some ideas would have meant a lot of difference to light, colour, trees in leaf and not !

How lovely to have all that space! You'll wonder how you managed before. Your housing worker has done a great job! Hope this can be a long term arrangement. I also hope your neighbours are nice, I would advise you to be friendly but keep to yourself a bit until you get to know them. My neighbours are great for taking in bins from the end of the drive, looking after cats when we are away, ( reciprocated) , taking in parcels etc but while we do socialise on occasion eg NY, we are not in each other's pockets. I do wonder what OH and male half of the couple talk about for hours on end over the gate though!

I am definitely taking on board advice re neighbours. I met one briefly on the stairs yesterday. He was coming down from up top. We just acknowledged each other with a hello. That'll do me!

I just had the most incredible night sleep. No noise from neighbours or the road.

House warming is on Monday. I'll have to unpack the box that contains my drinking glasses by then. No idea where they are!
