Mini meet up in London at the end of May?

Order yourself a latte, and a pastry (The virtual cinnamon buns are excellent today). And have a nice chat.

Great photos. Looks like a happy meet! The mackerel, horseradish and rhubarb mentions had me doing this  especially as I was just eating some rhubarb as I read it!

Looks like a lovely time was had ... think I'd have gone for the quail ... although the mackerel is tempting ... glad you enjoyed yourselves (also very glad that Zosh was well enough to go) :D

(Badger's Mate liked them too )

Thank you for a very pleasant lunch. It was nice to put faces to names. Thanks especially to Sue for booking and sorting out the bill, and to Rats for the lovely herbs. It's nice that we've all got a common interest but several have several interests in common it would seem.

FWIW I had the smoked eel sandwich, followed by hake with peas & Jersey Royals, and a loquat sorbet with pistachio biscuits. Oh, and some chips... :D

It's one of those thing is sounds as if you could almost knock it up easily - then you taste it, and the pannacotta is perfectly textured, the lemon curd is perfect and just enough, and the berry puree just finishes it off - definitely a lovely dessert

Panna cotta is reasonably straightforward to make and goes really well with all the seasonal soft fruit, so it's regular in this house (especially with roo-barb :D ) and a go-to if we've got cream left over.

Just wanted to say thank you to Sue for arranging such an enjoyable event. It was lovely to meet up with some of you. It is always good to be able to ut names to faces - or vice versa?

I too am a lifelong member of the chip fan club. I have never tasted anything like them. I thought the service was very well judged and friendly too which added to the enjoyment. The venue was perfect. Also a big thank you Mr Z for finding me a cab so swiftly!

Hope it is not the last meet I will be able to make because it was such fun.

Can't find the original reference to the herb Savoury .... but guess what jumped out at me at my (best) local GC today .... Never seen or noticed it before. I now need to find out the best place to keep it and find out if it is frost hardy or needs protection, or even if it only and annual :? :tu: :bounce:

I think Summer Savory is an annual, whereas Winter Savory is a perennial - my Winter Savory is in a sunny, fairly dry soil with Rosemary, Sage and Thyme, and is around 10 years old.
