Any experience of this company ?

Postby PatsyMFagan » April 26th, 2018, 11:57 am

I'm looking to invest some of the money from the 65+ Government Bond that recently matured. I can of course re-invest, however, the 4% that was originally offered has now been halved.

However, I have found this company :

https://www.londoncapitalandfinance.co. ... ce=(direct)

Is this one of those too good to be true things ? I am completely out of my depth with investments etc .....

Investing in the UK is a bit out of my ken these days. I did find this article though:

I would ask myself how they can offer so much more than mainstream leading financial institutes, and find out what this paragraph means:

"Please note that the products are not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority and not protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. Refer to the section on Security to see how our protection works."

Sounds a high risk investment to me, which means you shouldn't do it unless you can afford to lose the money! I believe it does mention high-asset investors somewhere - which means the sort of people who wouldn't notice losing £20,000.

I agree with Sue about it being high risk and personally wouldn't touch it..

I should tread extremely cautiously. The adage is old, but very true - "the greater the reward - the greater the risk".

I only have an inkling on the investment side of things but our pension people gave us a chart (like a big cross - think Jesus) and we had to decide what risk we were willing to take. We went midway and to date have been in the region of a 12 - 14% interest rate. Which we think is very good given the economic climate. Of course it can go up and down.

Sorry Patsy, I know nothing about the company you are asking......

Patsy, I just found this: http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/savi ... y-8-5.html
It's a reliable site although the article dates from September last year.

The people on this forum weren't very encouraging, albeit in 2015: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/sh ... ?t=5346049
