Got that, thanks, Zosh plus some N Slater courgette recipes and Ottolenghi's versions of Hummus.

The social side of cake is very interesting isn't it. Despite efforts to tell us it is bad for us, the ritual involved with highly iced confections (sometimes competing with posh hats in design I think!) at tea parties, morning or afternoon meet ups etc seems to be alive and kicking despite the demise of the traditional Tea as a meal. At a nice place which promoted morning coffee, afternoon tea and evening drinks last weekend, we were faced with vast slices of cakes with copious icing - decorated with whole custard cream or Oreo biscuits (depending on which cake had been chosen). I had never seen anything quite like it and no-one could finish a slice. I do love the symbolism and ritual of the sharing of cake though, however tough times are.

I must prefer small cakes. We have been watching Bake Off, The Professionals on C4. They produce beautiful looking and probably great tasting patisserie
