Do you have cleaner ? (domestic help)

Order yourself a latte, and a pastry (The virtual cinnamon buns are excellent today). And have a nice chat.

No ... just the 'neighbourhood' which is quite vague and a good couple of miles in diameter.

Ah might have a look then, thanks Suffolk. They insisted originally they would display either full address or postcode (16 buildings in my case) and I wouldn’t feel safe doing that

The original US app displayed the fulle address :o

I do think that posting using our own names discourages unpleasantness ... and at least on our local one there's no ' gossip/chat' ... it's topic-based information seeking/sharing.

I was a member of the similar UK service Street life and was one of many people who declined a transfer to Next Door when they took over, because they required you to reveal far too much personal info on line. They also defined the areas you were allowed to join rather oddly. The problem was/is displaying real nam and street address together.

I don’t know if they have changed this, especially since GDPR, but I’d be very cautious. Have they changed the amount of info you need to publish?

I felt the same when Street Life folded, and decided not to join Next Door, because it revealed too much information about its members - it would have been possible to identify where I lived without much effort.

Ours costs £10 per hour and she is the aunt of one of our best friends. I bloody love her!

I think it would be easy to learn to love your cleaner if he/she did what was required … :tu:

SIL on J's side organised a couple of pals to clean for MIL.
She paid what I thought was too much but MIL ran with it for a few years until I started getting cross.
We would go over each weekend for a cup of tea and a chat but ended up doing the ruddy cleaning.
When I asked MIL what the cleaners did she said only 1 came now and she was in and out in 30 mins instead of the 2 hours she paid for.

I explained that was wrong and although I was happy to help her in the house I shouldn't have to do stuff she is paying someone to do.

Cleaner was dismissed, we found her another one.
MIL died 10 years ago but the cleaner still comes to us.
