Kavey London Leaving Do

Postby Kavey » January 22nd, 2019, 10:12 pm

As I mentioned in my recent thread, we're moving to Wales!
Pete and I are having our farewell lunch at Bang Bang Oriental in Colindale on 9th Feb, everyone welcome.
We'll be there from 11.30 am to around 3 pm.
All are welcome, bring friends / partners if you like.
I just posted a link earlier to a new post I published today with our recommendations of favourite dishes to order, and it also lets you know what to expect. https://www.kaveyeats.com/2019/01/top-t ... ental.html
It's right on a number of bus routes, and 10 minutes walk from Colindale tube station.

DO COME!

Check my post, see if it helps.
Plus most of them have menus online, link is at the end of my post. Not all of them though and some don't have their desserts or drinks online anyway.

Sorry to hijack your thread Kavey. Am I right in thinking this place was the one where Wildies met some time ago and someone said it was very noisy ? Wasn't it around Crimbo ? Mr. Z. fancies a looksey but we can't make your leaving do Kavey. We will probably combine it with a visit to Southall and/or Wing Yip.

A few of us met up there last year I think … it wasn't near Christmas though … we all arrived in WI striped tops and it was commented on … I know that there was me, StokeySue, PepperPig and Mr and Mrs Kavey … :tu:

It can be noisy when very busy but at least they rarely turn the music or TV as loud when it's busy! Would love to see you all, the more the merrier. It may be extra busy because of Chinese New Year!

I am back from saying our goodbyes to Kavey and Pete …. Great idea to meet at Bang Bang Oriental :tu: I enjoyed my choice of food - thanks to the recommendations on Kavey's link above .. I started with Oyakodon from Ichiban (Chicken and Egg on a bed of rice) and had a Filipino Dessert called Halo Halo after sampling copious tasters from other's choices … I have brought home the Black and Gold Egg Buns … I really had to buy them, but knew I wouldn't have had room to eat them there. Myself, Sue and Badger's mate left about 3 and called into the supermarket next door .. I didn't buy much and headed home. I did a bit of retail therapy in Uxbridge before catching my last bus home, arriving at 5 pm … so exhausting travelling, eating, chatting and shopping but someone's got to do it. ! ;) :tu: Photos will be following.

Yes, thanks to Kavey and Pete for making it happen. Bang Bang Oriental is a remarkable place, the trains behaved themselves and I ate plenty, so all good. Nice to put faces to more names, to meet Lee in addition to K&P, and to catch up with Pat and Sue. I too bought black & gold buns for takeaway. Hopefully there will still be at least one left for Mrs B when she gets back from the Frozen North :D

I had one for my supper on Saturday night .. it was 'interesting' ... the centre looked like raw egg yolk, but was sweet ;)
