Time to say goodbye to Doris Day ... a complete star ... an absolute legend :kneel: :kneel: :kneel:

At the age of 97 ... the Deadwood stage is a headin’ on over them hills ...

I've just seen she has left us. The background to much of my childhood :kneel: :kneel:

As I commented on Facebook, I do hope that they now rerun a series of her best films on TV.

A real star, RIP.

I would have been the same, but noticed it was her birthday recently and looked her up... and was astonished by her teeth (much better than mine. Not that that's saying much.)

When DD was a very poorly 13/14/15 +...yr old (severe ME) she (and I) watched Calamity Jane over and over and over again ... if you started us off we could do it all, word for word ... we probably still can... that Windy City bar room song and dance routine is sheer genius ... when it’s on again you watch it ... it’s almost one continuous take ... amazing!!!

I too thought she was wonderful and loved Calamity Jane in particular.

According to the Six o clock news there’s an hour’s tribute programme on BBC4 at 8pm tonight.

RIP Doris, my Mum was a big fan. She used to sing Que Sera Sera to us while she was giving us a cuddle when we were wee if we had got upset over something and nothing. We played it at my Mum's funeral and everyone sang along. :luv:

I grew up alongside her films too. A true star and an animal lover too..... We watched the programme and was a bit humbled  She will be missed in this household. I bet Elaine Paige will be doing a tribute on R2 next Sunday.
