What a man. A great example to all for his courage and determination. I really couldn't and still can't approve of the sport he chose though.

it has its good points. many of the safety features and improvements in normal cars have come out of formula 1.

We were both very sad to read the news. Not only was he everything that Scully says, he always came across as a thoroughly sound bloke too. He'll be missed :(

Very sad when I saw the obit this morning
I saw him race ar Brand’s Hatch in 1978 he ran off onto the grass near us but got back onto the track and came 2nd (I just checked, I thought he came 3rd). I also saw him race at the Nürburgring in 73 but he retired, so not memorable.
