East Anglia Picnic - Norwich - Sunday 18th August

Order yourself a latte, and a pastry (The virtual cinnamon buns are excellent today). And have a nice chat.

Could you bring some cheese instead?

Funny, I was just thinking that. I may not have access to anything but supermarkets between now and then- has anyone got a good supplier near them? What kind of thing do you like best?

Costco have some more interesting cheeses at the moment.

Comte, Grana Padano, Pecorino, Livarot, Camembert, Manchego, and some english cheeses - Stilton, Cheddar, Red Leicester.

EM ... :bounce:

 We have a bottle of Prosecco that came in a hamper at Christmas ... I’ll pop that in the fridge ... and I’ll get some juice and fizzy water too ... and check that we have plenty of teabags ...

Can we work out what drinks we'd like so we have lots of what we like and not what we don't?

I was going to bring 2 x bottles of Prosecco for Pat, some soft drinks and wine. It looks as though Sue is bringing a bottle and Suffs has a bottle of Prosecco and juice.
Do we want 2 further bottles of Prosecco and wine (one of each red/white) and soft drinks? I think thre are 7/8 of us. What drinks would people LIKE?

No, I won't be in Cromer until late Saturday afternoon. I am thinking a deli near here which I keep meaning to visit.

I'll wait for the dodgems down the aisle. Apparently next year Dippy the Dinosaur will be visiting. Sometimes I feel a bit old.

I've amended my order with em …. so only 1 prosecco and if it doesn't get opened Suffs can put it in the fridge and she and the artist can drink it at their leisure ;)

If it’s cold and/or wet we can come in the house, so you’ll only need waterproofs to get in and out of the taxi etc

I’ve had a barefoot wander around the garden in my dressing gown ... the flowers are past their best but it’s looking not too bad if slightly autumnal. We’ve had a very light shower but the clouds are disappearing and there’s blue sky up there :bounce:

Another :mug: is needed and then I’ll get dressed and start the bread ... have a lovely journey folks ... those of you who are coming by train ... I love that route ... there’s so much to see, especially the Essex mudflats with the herons and egrets :D

We’ve had a lovely afternoon ... the Chinches and EM travelled together from Cromer and Patsy and Sue got a cab from Norwich station and arrived within a couple of minutes of each other, just as the heavens opened ... but the Prosecco and the rather nice raspberry stuff were opened and the rain stopped, the sun came out and we were out in the garden, spotting a frog on the hedgehog house and a snail on the hostas.

Plastic bags were put on damp garden seats; lot of lovely food was eaten and lots of chatting was done under sunny blue skies and fluffy white clouds ... time flew by and we had to clear up as Patsy and Sue had a cab ordered to take them back to the station.

Leftovers have been shared out and the washing up has been done and all has been put away ... there is no sign
of the good time that was had, except ... we have more cheese and alcohol in our fridge than we started out with :chops:

Sue and Patsy are on their train; EM and the Chinches are on the A140 and we are on the sofa with our feet up 8-)
