East Anglia Picnic - Norwich - Sunday 18th August

Order yourself a latte, and a pastry (The virtual cinnamon buns are excellent today). And have a nice chat.

I've changed the initial heading for the index page, but not all the sub-headings. And made it sticky - using the menu in the bottom RH corner.

Yes please …. :tu:

I thought I could bring my mum's tea bread ... whatever I do bring will need to be quite robust ;) - any suggestions ?

Not sure what I will have time to make / buy yet but will bring whatever we have least of once I know what I'm doing!

That looks a lot to prepare Chinch, perhaps you might decide to share it out!

It's beginning to sound a bit like bake off, so I'll avoid that

It seems some veg dishes might go down? Or some chicken or meat without pastry? If I don't have to bring picnic utensils, carrying stuff in my cool basket is not an issue

My first though was Felicity's authentic latest quiche Lorraine - I had it recently and it was a bit different to the usual and :chops:

If you want to do a quiche that’s fine by me Sue ... you go ahead ... I’ll do something else ... it’s easier for me as I won’t have to worry about transporting it.

I'm fine with that EM, I just thought that with some us travelling by train and you being a guest in someone else's kitchen it would be easier if I did some of the stuff requiring prep.

Quiche sound good Sue, love quiche :tu: Drinkies sound good too Patsy for those who drinkie :cocktail: :cocktail: :cocktail:

My 'hotel' is booked! :bounce: F. probably won't come as her hearing probs make group things like that a bit miserable.

I think maybe I will bring soft drinks and something for pudding. Does that sound alright? I would be happy to bring something salady instead of or as well as Chinch too. I'm arriving the night before and am a guest in the kitchen so can't be too clever!

I am not going to be able to make it I’m afraid. The said aunt has been diagnosed with lymphoma (she’s 92) and cannot plan for a visit. What with Mum being 91 and OH’s Alzheimer’s I’m going to take a step back and leave my cousins to sort out a date but that would be highly unlikely to be a weekend. Sorry and I hope you have a smashing time. The menu sounds great!

Yes, it's tarragon I can't cope with
Keep meaning to try an oyster, they have a little table in the fishmonger where you can have them opened for you, so I can try one, then work my way up

Those coming by train are due in at Norwich around 11:30 so shall we say 12noon ish here? Does that suit folks?

Chinch ... we probably need to get our heads together. ;)

The weather doesn’t look terribly reliable so we may all need to squish up indoors on the sofa
