Well - Here We Are Again!!!

Yes, folks - Mum & me have rejoined Slimming World.
I've regained all the weight I've lost - plus a bit more! :o
I'm ashamed of myself!!!! :spank:

However - a new start, a new pack, and not such an ambitious target (altho my ultimate goal is the same as it was last time).
We are both going to see how much we lose by Xmas.

I know what has caused the re-gain, but I've put plans in place to try and reduce it :tu: ;)

Everything is crossed!

I find that the only way to lose weight is to do some exercise and avoid lunch and snacks!!

Currently I'm removing a 1930's tiled fireplace and bricking it up. Before that I decorated the room and laid the carpet tiles. Once the bricking up is done we can put the curtains up and move back in. Over the last 3 weeks I'm 5 Kg down. :)

I feel for you Grassy. There's no way I'm going back to SW, I got tired of being told how to make fake junk food and enduring the scales after a while. Life's a bit different now I've retired and I'm addressing one outstanding issue at a time.

Yes aero, exercise is the key!

Good luck Grassy! Although I am with what they said. SW didn't work for me, short or long term. Not only did it have a negative effect on my weight, but it also made me feel very negative about myself and food in general.

Just recently I was in hospital and, to cut a long story short, had to rethink what goes in my gob. I am thinking that after completely cutting out alcohol :bounce: and pretty much living off raw foods and cereals with a smattering of dairy, the weight should be falling off, but I am not currently exercising atall really and that is the only thing that will shift it for me. Roll on our local pool opening soon! :tu:

Good luck Grassy & Mum. I've gained about 4kg this year so will have to do some work on that pretty soon - before the over-eating season starts!

Just to be contrary, I don't find normal amounts of day-to-day exercise helps with weight loss at all! If you're the sort of person who lacks willpower and/or the right genes to resist hunger, exercise can lead to eating more - especially if you tell yourself you've 'earned' a snack!

Everyone is different, and you have to find what works for you.

And when all is said and done, I do truly believe that not everyone was intended to be a size 10.....

Just been reading an article from the excellent nutrition department at Monash University in Oz (the people who brought you GI) about how very difficult it is to maintain weight loss :(

Good luck with it Grassy and your mum :hi5:

Interesting first week!
Haven't exactly been saintly BUT I managed to lose 1.5 lbs :tu: Less than I'd hoped, but it's a good start for a second timer ;)

Mum did slightly better - 2lbs :tu:

We each want a stone off by Xmas - we are well on track already :tu:

Well done both of you - you have to have realistic expectations of what is possible.

This week's result:
Mum has lost 2.5 lbs, while I lost just a lb :(

I wanted more because I've done loads of physical work.

Maybe next week
