RIP Clive James

Order yourself a latte, and a pastry (The virtual cinnamon buns are excellent today). And have a nice chat.

Another great loss, but the NHS gave him an unexpected 10 years of fairly productive life.

Genuinely funny and genuinely talented. Gervais, Brand, Brand, Ross, J. Carr, etc take note! He was way better than any of you!!!

Those crazy Japanese game shows

What an awful day.

Sorry Grasshopper but I won’t hear a bad word against Jo Brand. You’re right about the others though.

I once went to the filming of one of Clive James' shows. Interesting experience.
The laughter was not spontaneous though :o
Best bits were, perhaps, the bits they didn't show. Can't remember who guested though. It might have been Mel Brookes (I really ought to be sure of that though...?) It was about 30 years ago

Can't say I ever thought of him as a comedian.

Poet, writer, philosopher. But he hosted very funny TV shows, so I guess comedian as well.
A much loved Aussie expat. - he was sad he couldn't fly back to Aust. in the last few years due to his health, but he lived much longer than he expected to after his diagnosis and kept writing almost to the end :D

Loved Clive James - do you remember the mad Cuban lady Magarita Pracatan? He was an absolutely fabulous tv host - I could listen to him for hours. So sad that he has gone.
