Very sad. I used to watch him on TV as a kid. Lenny Henry used to do impressions of him on Tiswas.

Not heard of him for years but his legacy is one he can be proud of. RIP.
(not easy to imagine as a ballet dancer though!).

He inspired so many children to take an interest in conservation :kneel: but he disputed man made climate change ... :(

A few years ago I was on a trip for work travelling back from Devon and had one of those tickets offers that gave me First Class travel in one direction ... I collapsed into my seat at Liverpool St and the man opposite said ‘You’ll never guess who was sitting in your seat a few minutes ago .... David Bellamy! He was my hero when I was a child.” He was completely star struck and I was obviously a very poor replacement. :(

How sad, he had a good innings though. He was well loved by many and I am sure will not be forgotten bless him.

We booked him as a celebrity speaker in a fundraiser for the local RSPB group. Hugely entertaining and informative, great fun. He was a lovely bloke too.

I remember his definition of moderate drinking - three or four pints, three or four times a week - it's been left behind in recent times but it sticks in the mind better than units.

He was fab and will be missed. I liked Bill Oddie's tweet- that he was once mistaken for David Bellamy (which did neither of them any favours :D ).

Used to love Lenny Henry doing 'Compost Corner' too....
