Happy New Year everyone.

No celebrations here. We'll be tucked up in bed by 10. Don't think we've done New Year's Eve for about twenty years.

Happy New Year everyone.

We have been to the pub and chatted with pals, now we are home, about to have dinner.
Hope we can stay awake for Jools Holland.

Tomorrow is our traditional NYD.
We lead a walk of about 2 hours and feed people afterwards.
I have made a cauldron of chilli and a big pot of lentil stew.
We are expecting 14. They are seasoned visitors to the Wordsworth house, they get a bowl, a spoon and a piece of kitchen roll.

A quiet one for me here too ... you would never know there was a cat and a daughter in the house  She has come home from work and gone straight to her room in a big sulk ... probably objected to me being specific about the bottle of wine she had to replace after drinking the one I was saving for tomorrow's lunch. So a very Happy New Year to you all and looking forward to more meet-ups next year ! ;) 8-) :tu: :chef: :chops: :hungry:

Happy New Year everyone :cocktail: :cocktail:

We saw the New Year in at MIL’s with family and a good friend from OH’s school days.
I stayed awake until well into the morning  , OH did the First Footing with coal and salt and we sang Auld Lang Syne and drank toasts to the future.

OH’s sister and her hub wrapped themselves up in sleeping bags etc and spent the night in the stables with their horses as even when treated with sedatives they get very stressed by fireworks in the village.

Yes Scully ... I keep thinking about her and hoping we’ll see her posting again soon.
I have heard from Tezza ... she’s absolutely fine :D but life’s very busy for her with friends and family stuff at the moment.

Happy New Year everyone.

Thanks for thinking of me - I do check in regularly but only post occasionally. Feeling really sad for all the Aussies who are in the bushfire areas - we are OK at the moment, but haven't heard from our son and can't contact him by phone or text. The fires that were near him seem to be under control at the moment so we're hoping no news is good news.
