Coronavirus threat

Order yourself a latte, and a pastry (The virtual cinnamon buns are excellent today). And have a nice chat.

He’s been referred for a full screening but at present there is nowhere in the Bedford area ready to do it so he is waiting for a referral elsewhere.

He’s just had the all clear and is very relieved, partly because he still feels absolutely awful.

Busybee wrote:Our cruise around Japan has been cancelled by the operator, whilst I’m a bit disappointed I’m also very relieved. I have spent today cancelling flights, transfers, hotels, tours etc as we were staying in Tokyo pre cruise. Insurance will hopefully cover any losses, the flights being the main concern, i’ll relax when the refund hits my credit card!

We will holiday somewhere else.

Have you cancelled your trip Rainbow?

We are definitely planning to cancel but our Travel Agent isn't back in the office until Monday - off on a cruise somewhere!!
The news from Singapore seems to be getting worse, so should help our case to cancel ;)
A conference in Singapore was the start of a lot of cases around the world - Korea was one and an English guy went from the conference to a ski lodge in France, and then people from there took it to UK and other places!!

Yes international conferences do rather seem like a bad idea when you are trying to slow down a glocal epidemic...

in this day and age it seems a bit unnecessary to travel the world for conferences - i think it's an excuse for a jolly.
maybe more people will think twice and use video conferencing, more, in the future. it was mooted at the one we went to in faro.

Though no worse than any other sort, of course, it seems particularly inappropriate to fly people around the world for a climate conference.

Edited to correct punctuation

Was just trying to get some antibacterial hand gel. Waitrose and Sainsburys out. Boots online out of the four types I looked at. Amazon charging rip off prices. Superdrug have some big ones left.

Smelling of vodka would not go down well at work!

I have managed to order a large bottle and will decant it into a small one for OH next week. (I have some at the moment - I always carry a small bottle anyway.)

You'd need a very special nose to distinguish between vodka and hand sanitiser- both reek of short chain alcohols
Very few people can tell the difference between the ethyl alcohol in vodka and the propyl alcohol in sanitiser
I'm not sure I can, and I'm pretty good at that kind of thing, the late George, super-technician, is the only person I've known who could do it reliably
