New Members - Introduce yourself here!

Order yourself a latte, and a pastry (The virtual cinnamon buns are excellent today). And have a nice chat.

Thanks Miss Mouse. It's been tough. I have no family (or in-laws) apart from Mum who lives far away o it can get pretty miserable. Work keeps me going.

Change your Board Preferences. Go to the User Control Panel (click link at top left of page). Then click the tab "Board Preferences". In the left side bar menu. Choose "Edit Global Settings". then near the bottom, choose the "yes" button next to "Summer Time/DST is in effect".

Finish by clicking the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page.

How awful for you, Dee. Please accept my condolences. Normally we're a pretty friendly lot and I know we've been able to support quite a few people going through crises of one kind and another.

I see what Will (Aero) has suggested what to do about your BST/GMT choice.

See you again soon.

We're here whenever you want us and we're a lot less trouble than the 'in the flesh' type - we only eat virtual cake and drink virtual tea (or Sauv Blanc) ;)

Possibly better in some ways, on fragile days a person can retreat which is hard to do IRL. It will get better, unbelievable as this seems at present.

I joined more than a year ago & have only just noticed this thread

I used to read the BBC boards, but don't think I ever posted there. I found my way here from a mention on Kavey's blog, which in turn I'd found via Mamta's forum.

I've spent a lot of time lurking & reading here, at one time last year when I wasn't getting out much I read through (& enjoyed) the entire Kitchen forum from its beginning, but I hope to actually contribute a bit more now :)

Hi Swan, I'm Scottish too, whereabouts are you? I'm just south of Edinburgh.

Hi Amazing :)
I'm in Dundee but many many years ago I used to live in Edinburgh & still spend a lot of time there. In fact I've just arrived home after 2 1/2 weeks dogsitting for my friend while he holidays The Canaries, I look forward to my wee holiday all year :D

Hello *waves*

I thought Id best come introduce myself, I have recently moved to a new house near Wem, Shropshire and am getting myself all excitable about turning the products of our garden (and possibly the surrounding verges) into interesting edibles. Im not the worlds best cook but I can experiment with the best of them :D

Welcome bitoffluff. I do a bit of preserving, nothing like the real pros here like Sloe Gin and Karadekoolaid, but you'll find a fair number of us make the best of what our gardens produce.

In general, if you can see a glut coming in a week or two we can be more use to you if you tell us then rather than wait till you've picked it!!!

I like baking mainly, cakes and puddings, Mary Berry and James Martin are two of my fave 'celebrity chefs'. I also like making jams, chutney and just normal everyday cooking really. If we are entertaining OH does most of the cooking as he trained as a chef :chef: (but doesn't do it now only for fun) and I do dessert....so I guess you could say that's my speciality :D Our friends always say we make a good team in the kitchen

I'm living in the North West, south Manchester to be exact, but originally (a long time ago) came from Middlesex. Thought I was emigrating when I first came up here.
