Hi all and thank you for the lovely welcomes!
It's fine here these days - mostly the trouble is caused by youths who are capitalising on the opportunity for a spot of permissive destruction. When it all kicked off it was a bit dodgy, but as I'd adopted Bahrain as my country by then I didn't want to up sticks and scarper - much to the displeasure of my family and friends. Overheard in a local supermarket "Just stock up on canned goods ok? CANNED GOODS!" - bless 'em you've got to love the Armed Forces. We have a huge US Base here which serves as the central hub for operations thoughout the ME and out towards India and Far East so you do get to meet some interesting characters! That said, my now husband did go out and purchase 2 kilos of mince when we were in lockdown, just in case, to the mirth of our housemates.
Work wise we are the most Haram couple in Bahrain... Having both of us worked for one of the booze importing companies for about 4 years, OH has now moved on to a different one and I'm working for a food importing company. Guess what our biggest seller is? Yup, pork.
Would be delighted to welcome any Wildfooders that happen across these parts, although I suspect that to be somewhat unlikely.
Looking forward to chatting with you all!
