Order yourself a latte, and a pastry (The virtual cinnamon buns are excellent today). And have a nice chat.

Hi
I am Lunarmist a very good friend of Mrs WW in fact she is staying with me at the moment.
I am retired and enjoy cooking and making new friends with similar interests
I am a varied person I like banger racing, cooking (of course) geo caching (walking to get rid of the calories that the cooking causes)
I have 2 Granddaughters 3 sons of course my Husband Terry. I have just discovered growing my own veggie in my postage stamp size garden and my little green house. I enjoy meeting new folks and look forward to talking to new friends that I hopefully will meet on this site. Brightest blessings to you all :D :D

Wilkommen Lunarmist! I got the wrong end of the stick and didn't read your name as "lunar mist" at first but more like the German version of Red Army soldier or rather moon soldier. It's late, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. ;) ;) ;)

Hi there everyone!

I'm Angela, I used to post on the BBC boards many moons ago when I lived in Singapore, but after coming back to the UK I had a second child and life rather got in the way. Anyway, she's just started school full time this week and I now have a lot more time on my hands. :D :D :D

Looking forward to catching up on all the posts.....

Hello everyone
I used to post on the BBC boards (very infrequently),and then came on here a few years ago but life "happened" (as it does)... Anyway I've been lurking a little and thought it was time to get involved again.
I've emigrated from the UK to Bahrain and have been here for 5 1/2 years now - so look forward to bringing you some laughs from life in the Middle East (I hope!) and sharing in all of your extensive foodie knowledge again.
Happy to "see" you

Hi Gibbo80  Welcome :D

I visited Bahrain as part of a cruise 2 years ago, unfortunatly did'nt get off the ship as it was a time of political unrest & safety was at risk unless you paid £££ for an organised trip, still with the risk.
How do you find it there now?

Hi all and thank you for the lovely welcomes!

It's fine here these days - mostly the trouble is caused by youths who are capitalising on the opportunity for a spot of permissive destruction. When it all kicked off it was a bit dodgy, but as I'd adopted Bahrain as my country by then I didn't want to up sticks and scarper - much to the displeasure of my family and friends. Overheard in a local supermarket "Just stock up on canned goods ok? CANNED GOODS!" - bless 'em you've got to love the Armed Forces. We have a huge US Base here which serves as the central hub for operations thoughout the ME and out towards India and Far East so you do get to meet some interesting characters! That said, my now husband did go out and purchase 2 kilos of mince when we were in lockdown, just in case, to the mirth of our housemates.

Work wise we are the most Haram couple in Bahrain... Having both of us worked for one of the booze importing companies for about 4 years, OH has now moved on to a different one and I'm working for a food importing company. Guess what our biggest seller is? Yup, pork.

Would be delighted to welcome any Wildfooders that happen across these parts, although I suspect that to be somewhat unlikely.

Looking forward to chatting with you all!

Hi everyone,

Having 'lurked' for a while and enjoyed reading the disucssions here, I thought it was time to join in! Just to introduce myself a bit, I'm interested in all things foodie, love baking (although am yet to master bread....!) and am a liflong vegetarian.

I'm not sure how frequently I'll be able to post but hope to join in as much as I can!

Look forward to chatting with you all

Hi Saffron :D and welcome aboard :D I've noticed you 'lurking' and was curious (I'm a bit nosey  ). Do feel free to join in on Chatterbox threads as well as cooking ones - all are welcome :D

You'll find that your first few posts are moderated so there'll be a time lapse before they appear on the board, but once you've made several posts you'll be out of moderations and conversation can take place in more or less 'real time' :D

Hi all, I thought I'd post on here while my other posts are being moderated.

Ok I'm a medically retired prison service employee who's love of food has been seriously tested for the past 3 or 4 years.

After having my spine fused with the usual rods and pins I was unable to get over it enough to go back to work so they retired me.

Food to me just turned from something I relished and got excited about to- just fuel.
Due to pain levels and mobility problems I was unable to enjoy the prep and the creating so it got to the stage where I didn't even want to talk about food.

I started to sketch again like I used to years ago and I love it. I posted some of my work on Facebook and people started asking me to do things for them.
Teri (Wildfood name I forget) suggested I might like to come and post again -so here I am.

Hello all I thought I would introduce myself as a poster who has come and gone and come back again.

I am a married mother of two who lives in Rep of Ireland with family, two dogs and three chickens.

I love food, especially curry, and enjoy a nice wee glass of wine now and then.

Oh since I have been gone I have joined the Scouts so a lot of my spare time is either Scouting or planning for Scouting activities.

And some of my proudest scouting moments is teaching my Scouts new dishes on Camp, and have them clear their plates and their pots!

Nice to see you posting again, psd.

Also a big welcome please to my friend Bill who lives in Alaska. He's been a foodie correspondent of mine for around 20 years and after coming with another American (this one from the Eastern Seaboard) foodie friend, had taken the plunge to post here. He's more of an "eat" than a "cook", but let's face it, for every "cook" we need an "eat" or two. 8-)

Hi all,

I thought I would reintroduce myself. I have been, gone, returned, gone and have now returned once more!! This time I hope to get into the swing of it and post regularly.

To remind those that don't know me, or have forgotten, I am a mother to a 16yr old whom I used to refer to as BabyBoo then TeenBoo! I am married and live at the foot of the chiltern hills on the Herts/Beds/Bucks borders. I have a dog, Piper, she is 4 and gorgeous. I am a dispensary manager for a busy GP practice and I have just over 5000 patients that we dispense medication to, so my job is busy!! In June of this yr I was diagnosed with coeliac disease so I've been getting used to my new diet and I'm mostly enjoying it and the challenges it brings. I love to cook, love to talk about food and love to take pictures of my plates of food!!

I hope everyone is well, I know we have lost a few members since I've been 'gone'. RIP.

There's been a recent blip with the site and emoticons have disappeared from the Quick Reply option so you need to remember to use the Post Reply button further down the page, then the emoticons appear at the righthand side.

If you forget and use the Quick Reply box, a workaround is to click on Preview - then the emoticons appear and you can then continue writing your post in the Preview box.
