It's been 5 years to the day since my beloved Bagpuss went to sleep for the last time. It doesn't feel like 5 years. Daph was such a sweet girl - she's sadly missed.

A candle for the mother of the bride
I went, as I said I would, to the wedding of two long term friends on Monday, the bride being in an electric wheelchair due to fast moving motor neurone disease
Unfortunately the mother was taken to her daughter's home and left alone for a short time after the ceremony. When the bride and groom arrived they found she had fallen down the stairs and is now in hospital. She is 93. Not a goid start for them

How horrible Sue. I hope it goes well.

Candle lit here for my cousin who died very recently and who we buried today next to her beloved father. Very sad day. Laughs and memories were shared but she was far too young.

To Luca and Sue. Loads of these to you both.  There is never a good time of year is there, but at Christmas it makes things harder. I am forever remembering my Nan who died on 20th December 2000. She was found by my Mum collapsed on her bed after a heart attack. Four years after my Granddad suffered similarly just one day before my birthday. We had a BBQ planned for my birthday and decided to go ahead with it and raised our glasses to him.

So, here's to our loved ones who are sadly no longer with us. :cocktail: :cocktail:

Thank you all very much. She was supposed to be getting married to long term partner before Christmas. Instead we buried her.

Chinch...  How horrible.

Big hugs to all who need it. Life really can be grim but we seem to have a pretty effective, caring group here and support is always a good thing even in the 'virtual' world. Take care and look after yourselves one and all.

Chinch - as a former anorexic (well they say you are never truly free but am recovered), I can see now what it did to my family so I am sending SO much love and support on this one. For me it was a very lonely experience and my family watched it unfold with me encasing myself in a shell that wouldn't let anyone in. So hard for all involved.

Goodness - I didn't want any sympathy for me - just to try to empathize with Chinch. But thank you anyway - you are such a supportive bunch. I would love to be able to talk to someone at the start of anorexia to talk them out of it but I know it wouldn't work. Chinch - if you have any questions about the way her mind maybe working, do let me know in case I can help. It is a bit me me me to say but I am immensely proud to be as fine as I am (If that isn't too self congratulatory..)
