It's not as easy as it sounds aero! Fine if you can get out every day and find something different to photo, or on a wet day try and find something else to take inside.

You can't take a photo yesterday for example and use it for today, it's got to be a new photo each day. Then if you go out and have a great photo day and have loads, you have to pick only one for the group.

Though for all that it is fun and can be quite a challenge if you want it to be. :)

Wonderful! Sheep are such characters.

I suggested a soap bubble workshop to the photo club. Two had the grace to let me know they could not come, four turned up, the rest stayed away.

Still, we had a lot of fun with the bubbles and got some interesting photographs out of it. Since I was the organising party, I didn't get to snap that much, but even so, some lovely shots were possble.

ImageWeltenkugel by natterjack3, auf Flickr

ImageOsterei by natterjack3, auf Flickr

I can only recommend it. It is not easy to snap them, but so much fun to blow them and watch them. And take loads of pictures, then you can be sure to come away with some beauties.

I'll let you in on a secret: a dark background will give the best colours and reflections, but don't let that stop you snapping them against other backgrounds, they show different facets that way.

This thread has been shamefully neglected and deserves to be revived.

I am as guilty as everyone else for allowing it to drop out of sight. Let's get it afloat again! Here goes:

I have been toying with the idea of snapping feet. The poor things must carry us everywhere, but get little thanks for it.

First attempt, my foot on its own.

No, not if you don't want to! On the other hand, there is more than one kind of beauty.
It's just a project I am trying out at the moment. My OH has handsome feet and one evening we looked at them how they sat easily together and I thought that feet would make a good subject. One does hardly ever see them and what they do.

It feels like ages ago, but Umbria was lovely. I can heartily recommend it. Admittedly no single big must-sees really, but this is probably why it was not too touristy. (We didn't spend long in Assisi though...) I had some amazing food.

Looks a very interesting place to visit, I might have to add it to my bucket list as we have only been to southern Italy.
I imagine the food was superb as well, making my mouth water just thinking of it.

That's lovely H-cky.

One thing about Umbria, photographically speaking, was that everything was very brown! But they had been (still are?) having an ongoing heatwave of the likes of 40 degrees for some time. I saw pictures of fields of poppies and cornflowers from the spring.

Even food from the supermarket was very good. People were friendly too. (In spite of our almost complete lack of Italian.)

The garden is looking very sad. We grew a few sunflowers, but the winds brought them down the other week so I picked a couple to add to some that were bought for my birthday. My strawberries are still flowering, but I have stopped bothering to try to pick them. Something always gets there first...

This thread has been poorly attended recently!

I'll add a photo from the latter part of the holiday. As we walked back down to the village from the Cirque de Gavarnie in the Pyrenees we saw this calf stagger to its feet after having just been born. A bit sad really. We thought that the autumn was a bit late for mountain cattle to be breeding, as winter will arrive soon. But then we realised that it will probably already be veal before the winter really starts...

OH was walking home from the bus stop a couple of nights ago when she saw a fox ahead. The fox saw her and, instead of turning away, it ran straight up to her.

Rubbish photo quality though from a phone in the dark...

Wow! What an encounter! It looks quite a young one so perhaps was curious. I wish I wasn't driving when I have seen badgers running (waddling) around our streets in the early hours of the morning searching rubbish bags, I would love a photo of them!

They seem to have little fear. I encountered one coming home on Tuesday. When it saw me, it stopped and stared a me for ages, then continued to stare at me as I walked on.

Only ever once seen a badger at that was in Wytham Woods. (Wonderful place.)

Actually the badgers are a menace - it is an urban area of small terraced houses with small gardens and those whose gardens they frequent despair. We have plenty of foxes too. It is still quite a thrill to see badgers running down the street and they look so funny! Before that I had only seen two, one running across a country lane one night and the other attempting to run across four lanes of a dual carriageway - luckily it was early in the morning and he managed it!
