What a lovely picture Hickey! You can catch badgers running round the streets here if you go out at crack of dawn on dustbin day. They raid all the sacks left out - I have never had a camera handy when I've seen them.

That 60 year old flamingo is not looking 60 years old! Go flamingo! :luv:

If I had to go out armed with a camera ahead of bin collection day to capture badgers I happily would, but not sure I would succeed. I think I'd be more likely to catch a fox round these parrrrrts, although haven't heard or seen one yet.

I don't think she lives at the station, but the ticket person called her into the office shortly after I took the photo, so maybe they feed her. She is clearly well looked after and very friendly. I have worried, when she's on the platform, that she might one day get onto a train :?

Some of the sunflowers I agaonized about before holiday. I have some almost brown ones too. Took these on the last day we had nice light. The pictures seem to look better/clearer/more in focus if you click on them.

Indeed. My comment was really meant for you, Terry ;) I think the article was a kind of 'Oh I took this brilliant photos with a rubbish old camera'.

I just had a sensor clean for/on (?) my 750d today. I had acquired a blob. I think it's going to be my camera tomorrow in France. I 'got' (i.e. bought myself!) a 6D mkII for my 50th. (The birthday was otherwise uncelebrated pretty much, so I felt I deserved the extravagence, rightly or wrongly!) I am happy with it, but I think it sometimes best to wait until a new model has been around for a bit before buying, if you are thinking of upgrading. The 6D doesn't like my Sigma lens, and still no previews in windows if you shoot in RAW. It's also damned heavy so not a great holiday camera.

I am starting a 5 week macro course at the City Lit the week after next :D

Interesting comments Rachel, whether I will change I do not know, not the best camera in the world but I know my way around it.
At the end of the day it is only as good as the lens
Here are a couple of shots I took a couple of weeks ago, not perfect but not bad on the move

I discovered the Palais-Royal while in Paris the other week, and was very drawn to these structures. According to Wiki the installation is 'highly controversial'... Les Deux Plateaux,1985–1986, Daniel Buren. People just couldn't seem to resist standing on them to pose, or hiding behind them.
The whole place was full of lines and shadows.

Back in Normandy... the house is lamentably dark, but a shaft of light got into the sejour late afternoon, and I'd bought myself some flowers.

Some interesting architecture in Aarhus (also seems to be a very cultured place.) But the weather was mostly terrible for photography. Took quite a few at the exhibition we went to but don't really have photos that give a flavour of the place.

I bought three dahlias this year. One is now flowering. Not quite as good as the pics on the webt site, but still lovely.

A hoverfly accommodatingly landed on it while I was photographing it. And some other flowers. I actually don't have many more flowers than the ones shown here in the garden :o

Two more... the anemone was from some ancient corms that I had a go with. About 20% came up... This is the only one that has got to flowering stage, although I have hopes for the others that came up. The other is the delphineum I bought in Sheffield last weekend.
