I've just drunk a veggie stock cube dissolved in a mug of boiling water. It's very tasty, but I worry a bit about its salt content. It makes a nice mid morning change, though, from a cup of tea.

Just managed to find a hot water machine that is actually working so am having my first mug of coffee of the day. Boy is it hitting the spot! :mug:

I also have a glass of water, a glass of orange juice and half a can of Pepsi Max on the go. I'll be spending the best part of the afternoon in the loo at this rate! :terrified:

I'm on a glass of dry cider with a dash of crème pêche - known locally as a kir Normande. It's been a hot day and I've been gardening and I definitely deserve it.

I'd completely forgotten about kir Normande. Thanks for jogging my memory. I received an email from Lidl today which is having a French week next week and they are going to be selling some Norman cider I believe... hopefully they will also have some crème de pêche too.

I am having a glass of red wine and resisting putting the television on.

Yes I saw that Catherine. There wasn't a mention of the peach though.... We'll see. I like cassis as long as there is only a touch of it. I prefer blackberries.... but have never tried to make it as usually more get eaten than picked...

Since I began watching the election results, about 5 hours ago, I have had a pint and a half of home brew (Tom Caxton Real Ale) and a small glass of wine.

But now I'm drinking a mug of cocoa - sweetened by a spoonful of blackstrap molasses (for the iron, you see!) - since I'll be driving in about 6 hours time!

And much as I'd like to continue on the ale, it's better I stop now! 8-)

First thing (I have to do this to function!) I had a mug of Starbucks coffee, unadulterated by milk or sugar! Now, I'm sittng at the pc with a mug of tea, contemplating 30 minutes on the treadmill, followed by a trip to T*sco's and an afternoon making caramelised red onion chutney for an order on Monday. Cor! Think I'll sneak back to bed...

I bet you were full after 6 whole peole FCQ ! ! I can only manage one ! And on a weekday eve................

Tonight it is a couple of large glasses of Frosty Jacks mixed with silver label Merrydown. Maybe a glass of red with supper which started out as shepherds pie and is now (with the addition of slices of aubergine) Shepsakka (get it?). Cannot relax too much as I have to work tomorrow morning (first one since I was a Saturday Gal in a shoe shop at the age of 16 !!!) Boo Hoo ! We still have not heard if Immindoors got his job or not for those of you who so kindly wished us luck. Maybe if things get better I will not have to work (more than) full time and be able to get back in my garden.

Me and OH shared a bottle of raspberry cider whilst putting dinner together. I rather liked it, OH wasn't quite sure. I am now washing my spicy stir fry down with a rather large, almost goldfish bowl sized, glass of red wine. :chops:

Apparently Zosherooney Sainsburys construct it by adding raspberry juice to the cider. Just 4% vol, veggie & vegan too, really fresh and zingy. I poured my portion over ice, OH necked his from the bottle. Riff raff! :lol:

Probably why mine went down better than his did.

I have done two hours in the gym but forgot to take my bathing costume so no swim today. I was going to make a cheat's Pimms and poured the vermouth into a tumbler, decided it was a bit early for gin and simply filled the glass with ice cubes and poured some tonic water over. Absolutely delicious and just the right sort of bitterness about it.

... Lidl's version of Cinzano Bianco vermouth - a highly scented concoction called Romanetti... 2.99 euros a bottle (in France). It is filthy stuff and I love it... :oops:
