Mary's famous Guernsey's Bean Pot ....

Postby PatsyMFagan » January 14th, 2017, 9:35 am

Well not exactly Mary's own bean pot, but on the One Show last night (BBC1 7pm), a guy (unknown to me ;) ) is going round the UK alphabetically, featuring local food .. it was 'G' last night and he went to Guernsey as viewers had recommended the Bean Pot/Jar - really interesting :tu: I have to say it didn't look particularly appetising to me (a bit water for my taste), but got rave reviews. He went to local suppliers of the ingredients and interested to hear there are 2 schools of thought whether to include carrots or not ;)

It's available on a video clip

I didn't know Ricky either, but according to the website Ricky Andalcio is an Irish-Venezuelan chef from Bethnal Green :D

I seem to recall the Bean Pot was featured in one of the Rick Stein series too. Possibly Food Heroes?

Thanks for the link to the clip. Hope Mary sees it. :luv:
