Your favourite TV channel?

Postby TeresaFoodie » June 14th, 2017, 8:07 pm

Over the years I have had the usual suspects plus Sky then Sky Sports then had to ditch the lot and go back to basics. My life and my pennies have been saved. When I open up the TV guide each day armed with my highlighter pen BBC2 always comes up trumps. From morning to noon always a winner. Intellectual programmes, comedy, cookery, what else do you need?

I really like London Live. You get some real gems on there (and not all relevant to London) but I'm not sure how far out it reaches.
At present I am watching it and it's about Dublin's history of crime.

Some of the programmes are very hard hitting but I like that I feel I am hearing the truth rather than a sanitised version.

Perhaps it reaches Luton Tezza?

I shall look into that, thanks for the heads up.
Currently addicted to Food Network especially as there seems to be fellow Essex person Jamie Oliver on full time. He just made the most luscious looking borlotti bean dish. Loads of garlic. Yum!

I'd better check that out Tezza ... we're growing Borlotti beans in the garden this year and will dry most of the crop :D I've a feeling I'm going to have to find lots of things to do with them over the winter.

Was it this one Tezza? http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/fish ... bean-stew/
I had something very similar in his Fifteen restaurant in Cornwall.

Yes I do think it was that one. I know there was fish involved. When the shops open tomorrow I shall be on a bean and fish hunt!

I don't really watch conventional TV now. I have an Amaxon fire stick connected to my TV , which has BBC , ITV etc catch up on it plus my Netflix app, perfect for a good TV binge. I also have Kodi installedwhich is amazing for films and any other telly not covered by the above

I quite often watch BBC4 if I'm in on a Friday evening.
Looks like there is an hour of David Bowie this week.

I do like to catch the news programmes seeing as I refuse to waste money on newspapers. So every few hours I flick round the BBC and ITV channels for news. I do find BBC more professional and somewhat smarter than say ITV.

Sky News is pretty professional but Channel 4 News is my preference.
