Celebrity Masterchef

I thought Vic Reeves had been on it before, didn't he win ???

No, now I think back, it wasn't Vic Reeves, it was Ade Edmondson I am thinking about.

I've heard of most of that lot, sounds quite promising
From where did they exhume Ulrika? Good to have her on with Vic / Jim though

Love Henri Leconte - I wonder if they do a Celebrity Masterchef in France and if so, why he didn't do it.

I struggle with Vic Reeves though - I have never found him in the least bit funny and I know for certain that Lesley Garrett is going to make me scream louder than her compulsive shrill caterwauling.

More than happy with the rest though

My thoughts exactly - she looked really uncomfortable not the usual confident flirty Ulrika of old. How she went through after serving raw lamb I really don't know.

Don't know ... think Angelica is the weakest ... Dev and Ulrika are pretty evenly matched, but Ulrika's nerves may get the better of her and Dev is improving with every round ...

I don't think that Ulrica should have been allowed to make Swedish Meatballs, it shows lack of imagination.

Did anyone see the three finalists on the One Show last night, together with Nigella?

Quite entertaining (at least by One Show standards) and although they were very careful I'm kind of coming round to Angelica, though all three claim to have messed up in the final! Will just have to watch

They played a clip of Ulrika doing a take off of Nigella (long ago), it was quite funny and Nigella responded gracefully

I adore Angelica Bell. She was a real role model for young girls back in the day. (She played the cello too). ;) Hope she wins. Have a feeling it will be Ulrika though. Have even warmed to her a bit. Was glad to see the back of Rebecca Adlington. She really grates and I don't know why.

Hmmm ... Angellica chose to get married in a Trump hotel ... does that show poor judgement ... yet more style over substance maybe  ;) ;) ;)

A long time ago before she was married first time round she did some wonderful work in our primary schools. I base my judgement on that.

I didn't manage to catch many episodes. I have just thoroughly enjoyed the final and the best person won. I guess (without Googling) that Angellica and Dev are from a younger than mine generation of TV presenting because I am only familiar with Ulrika and thought she looked lovely, unlike Carol Vorderman on The One Show earlier. Sorry Carol but what's happened there? Weight gain or botox over dose?! Such an enjoyable series of this show. Neither John or Greg annoyed me on this occasion. That's a first for me!

Can't wait for the next series.

I thought Angellica Bell was a deserved winner. I have seen her on 71 Degrees North and Tour de Celeb - on both occasions it was obvious that she wasn't a quitter and was gutsy and quick to learn.
I also like her as a presenter and recall when she stood in on Something for the Weekend - a zillion times better than many other stand ins.

Did she not elope to marry in Trump Towers for her second marriage?! I am guessing the Trump connotations in those days equated to luxury and not ignorance - in fact I wonder if Trump Towers has suffered any sort of drop in business ??

Best final I've seen in Celebrity Masterchef, in another year either of the other two might have been a clear winner. But I had a clear one-two-three in my mind, and it seems the guys agreed

I just Googled - not recommended - apparently viewers were "disgusted" and "revolted" by Dev's "seaweed custard" so don't serve chawanmushi to tabloid readers

Oh, and apparently Angelica "broke down"; I thought she auditioned for Strictly!

I didn't see many either - Mr. Z is not a fan.... :? And it's a very long programme.....

Angellica struck me as far superior than the other 2 although the standard was very high this year.

I've just watched it and enjoyed it very much. Am interested that some of my non-foodie FB friends are utterly revolted by the idea of Olive Oil ice cream. :o I think it might be rather good. 8-) Has anyone here ever made or tried it?

OH is determined to make Ulrika's pea, lemon and ricotta risotto from an earlier episode, btw, so I'm looking forward to that! I googled and found a Ruth Rogers recipe although he's rather good at risotto and will probably just throw it together  (http://ifthatsdinnerivehadit.com/recipe.php?id=70 if you're interested)
