I, Daniel Blake

Postby TeresaFoodie » January 5th, 2019, 11:49 pm

I just watched this and wondered if anyone else did?

Pretty grim viewing material. I actually felt exhausted after watching it.

If I hadn't have had such a good day today I might not have been able to have watched it. I'm glad I did.

So sad for Mr Blake.

I saw this when it first came out. Should be compulsory viewing for all, especially those who will probably never go near such circumstances. The really awful thing is that things seem worse now than they did at the time the film was made. I would recommend it to anyone as a must to watch.

I also think things have got worse since this was made, sadly.

The DWP hold music is very real and has really put me off Vivaldi Four Seasons for life.

I tried to get my mum to watch this, as she couldn't understand what I was going through being on benefits, but she said no, far too depressing. My point exactly.

We have recorded it so I can see watch it but not at bedtime ...

We have te DVD from when it first came out. As a Geordie i found it very moving , as a person I found it far far to near the truth - like Suffs Ive been around these problems in a previous life and they don't appear to have got any better.

All politicians should be made to watch it - I'll happily provide a translation for all those who are not Geordie speakers
