Who is Rylan, is he one of those famous for being famous people?

Totally agree Sue, he seems such a kind person. I loved him and his mum in Celebrity Gogglebox - they both appeared completely natural.

He's one of those people who seem to have appeared from no-where. I see he rose to fame on X factor and varous other programmes which I don't watch. What I have seen of him he does seem pleasant.

Not keen on Ready Steady Cook though. I hate cookery programmes where there isn't really enough time to execute dishes properly.

I stopped watching RSC some years ago.
I tried a few of the dishes and they were, shall we say, uninspiring.

To me it's more of a game show (which I hate) than a cooking programme.

As it was last shown in 2010 I think we all stopped watching some years ago. And it was always billed as a game show. Some of the original chefs did very well off the back of it though.

Rylan was on Breakfast TV, saying he hoped the new series would give some good chefs a boost

Didn't do Phil Vickery or Paul Rankin any harm, did it?

I must be the only person here who finds Rylan to be the most annoying person on the planet then.

I was an avid RSC watcher in its prime, saw it live once in the nineties. That was a good day out for the girlies in my family. I always saw it as a bit of a giggle and never took it too seriously. Also had a couple of failures with their recipes.

I might give it a whirl if I can get myself past the veneers!

I can cope with him in small doses on the radio but I do find those teeth ‘difficult’ ... I read/heard somewhere that even he regrets them a bit ... not sure if I’ll bother with RSC ... there’s always other options ...

It’s the voice I find a little tiring, but I can cope with that as long as what he says is ok

I’ve heard him joke about the teeth himself, along the lines of at least they are a trademark

If you remember way back on the BBC board we all used to swap tips about how to exclude RSC results from recipe searches, because they so often didn’t work. It seemed from information shared was that this was more because they weren’t written down accurately as they were done, and weren’t tested as written rather than because they were awful on the day.

If the Greek MasterChef winner is a young man called Akis, he is v good.
I agree about RSC recipes, I avoid them

I tell you who were bloody annoying. Patrick Anthony and Richard Cawley. I wonder what happened to them.

Patrick Anthony was a mainstay of Norfolk local radio and tv back in the day ... and I think that following RSC he did the Cruise Ship circuit for a while ... he also used to pop up promoting various kitchen gadgets ... goodness knows where he is/what happened to him? Even Wiki doesn’t seem to know ...

Funnily enough, those two never really annoyed me. I am usually easily annoyed!

Ainsley on the other hand.... He never really could step into Fern's shoes could he?
