Wasn’t it terrific? Made me wish I’d been to the Dior exhibition too.

The second episode was just as good and the work on the Raphael cartoons was simply astonishing. As for the diamonds - I am on record as saying I wouldn't know the difference between a diamond and a piece of glass. I think I do now.

Taking down those cartoons was just incredible to watch, as well as examining the paper.

It's about Mary Quant items tonight - should be of particular interest to those of us who went to the exhibition!

I was wondering whether she’d ever get that dress clean without it disintegrating or shrinking. The ionised water was probably a good tip if you were into that sort of cleaning.

The cleaning of the dress was fascinating, I was surprised at the amount of water even though it was ionized. Excellent result though. Those saris were beautiful, how lucky for the museum!

I just think that the across board expertise required for the various types of conservation is breathtaking. How wonderful it must feel when you get it right!

Another thing that has struck me is how beautiful is each expert's voice - so clear, so lovely to listen to :tu:
